   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
   (3) Installation of the engine protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

A. Draining of the Oil from the IDG
   (1) Locate the IDG on the left rear side of the main gearbox.
   (2) Find the IDG filter elements under the IDG.
   (3) Drain the oil from the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-680-802).

   (1) Make sure that the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) in position below the IDG.
   (2) Remove the two caps (3) and filter elements (2).
   (3) Put a label to identify the IDG oil charge and scavenge filter elements (2).
   (4) Remove and discard the two packings (1) and two packings (4).
   (5) Put the two filter elements (2) in a BAG - PLASTIC.

C. Visual Inspection of the IDG Oil Charge and Scavenge Filter Elements
F IDG Oil Filter Elements ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Use a FLASHLIGHT to examine inside the caps (3) and inside the IDG for contamination.
   (2) If you see contamination, collect it in a piece of clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) and put it in the BAG - PLASTIC with the filter elements (2).
   (3) Send the filter elements (2) to the shop for analysis if necessary as follows:
     (a) Make a record of the aircraft tail number, engine serial number, and date.
     (b) Send the filter elements (2) to the shop for analysis.

E. Fill the IDG with oil (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-612-803).
   (1) Examine the assembly for unwanted objects, damage and correct assembly.

F. Visual Inspection for Oil Leaks
   (1) Do the dry motoring procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-720-809) and make sure that there are no oil leaks at the caps of the filter elements.
NOTE: We recommend that you do the visual inspection again to make sure that there are no oil leaks at the caps of the filter elements. Do this inspection the next time you operate the engine at minimum idle (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-720-811).
NOTE: When you operate the engine at minimum idle, the oil pressure in the lubrication system and the cooling system of the IDG is higher and the oil circulation time is longer.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Removal of the engine protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Close the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
