WEAR GOGGLES, INSULATED GLOVES AND OTHER PROTECTIVE CLOTHES.
HOT OIL CAN BURN YOUR EYES AND SKIN.
IF OIL TOUCHES YOUR EYES OR SKIN, GET MEDICAL AID.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Ground Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
(3) Installation of the engine protection covers
4. Procedure(1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
(3) Installation of the engine protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(1) Locate the IDG on the left rear side of the main gearbox.
(2) Find the IDG filter elements under the IDG.
(3) Drain the oil from the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-680-802).

(2) Find the IDG filter elements under the IDG.
(3) Drain the oil from the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-680-802).
B. Removal of the IDG Oil Charge and Scavenge Filter Elements
(1) Make sure that the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) in position below the IDG.
(2) Cut and remove the lockwire from the two caps (3).
(3) Remove the two caps (3).
(4) Remove the two filter elements (2).
(5) Put a label to identify the IDG oil charge and scavenge filter elements (2).
(6) Do an inspection for contamination of the two filter elements (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-210-807).
(7) Remove and discard the packings (1) and (4).
(8) Discard the two filter elements (2).
(1) Make sure that the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) in position below the IDG.
(2) Cut and remove the lockwire from the two caps (3).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Cut and remove the lockwire from the two caps (3). (3) Remove the two caps (3).
(4) Remove the two filter elements (2).
(5) Put a label to identify the IDG oil charge and scavenge filter elements (2).
(6) Do an inspection for contamination of the two filter elements (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-00-210-807).
(7) Remove and discard the packings (1) and (4).
(8) Discard the two filter elements (2).
