Installation of the IDG Oil Temperature Thermocouple
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

Subtask 24-21-15-110-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Cleaning of the Components before Installation
(1) Remove all the covers/caps/plugs from the openings the electrical connector and the electrical receptacle.
(2) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) to clean these parts:
(a) The IDG oil cooler.
(b) The IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4).
(3) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to dry the IDG oil-cooler and the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4).
(4) Make sure that these items have no damage:
(a) The IDG oil cooler.
(b) The IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4).
(c) The electrical connector.
Subtask 24-21-15-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove all the covers/caps/plugs from the openings the electrical connector and the electrical receptacle.

(b) The IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4).
(c) The electrical connector.
B. Installation of the IDG Oil-Temperature Thermocouple on the IDG Oil Cooler
(2) Install the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4) in the IDG oil cooler and attach with the two bolts (2).
(3) TORQUE the bolts (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )

(4) Connect the electrical connector (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010) to the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4).
Subtask 24-21-15-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE NEW PACKING WHEN
(1) Lubricate the new AIPC 24-21-15-80-010 PACKING (1) with clean engine oil (Material No.V10-039) , then install it on the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010). (2) Install the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4) in the IDG oil cooler and attach with the two bolts (2).
(3) TORQUE the bolts (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
. (4) Connect the electrical connector (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010) to the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple (4).
C. Operational Test of the IDG Oil-Temperature Thermocouple-System
(1) Do an operational test of the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple-system (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-017).

D. Test for Leaks
(1) Do an oil-system leak test of the IDG oil-temperature thermocouple. Leaks are not permitted (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-017).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

(4) Remove the access platform(s).
