TASK 24-21-00-730-040-A
System Test of the IDG Frequency (P/N 740119)
Make sure that the steady-state operating frequency of the IDG is between 390 and 410 Hz.
If the frequency of the IDG is out of the specified limits, but is between 380 and 420 Hz, the display of the IDG frequency on the ECAM ELEC page becomes amber. Do these steps:
A. Work Zones and Access Panels
B. Referenced Information

System Test of the IDG Frequency (P/N 740119)
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
1. Reason for the JobMake sure that the steady-state operating frequency of the IDG is between 390 and 410 Hz.
If the frequency of the IDG is out of the specified limits, but is between 380 and 420 Hz, the display of the IDG frequency on the ECAM ELEC page becomes amber. Do these steps:
- remove the IDG from the engine gearbox,
- adjust the frequency of the IDG,
- install the IDG on the engine gearbox.
NOTE: You cannot get access to the frequency adjustment screw when the IDG is on the engine.
The adjustment of the frequency is permitted only one time each 400FH. If you adjust the governor, make an entry in the aircraft technical logbook.
2. Job Set-up InformationThe adjustment of the frequency is permitted only one time each 400FH. If you adjust the governor, make an entry in the aircraft technical logbook.
