A. Visual Inspection
(1) Do a visual inspection of these components:
2 The overflow drain port, replace the overflow drain valve-coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-803).
3 The oil-inlet and oil-outlet ports (cooling circuit interface with the IDG) or the case drain, replace the related fitting.
4 The vacuum break valve:
1 For tubing:
(d) IDG oil/oil heat-exchanger for leakage:
(2) If you find components wet with oil, make sure that you find and correct all the causes.
If necessary, fill the IDG with oil (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-612-803).
Subtask 24-21-00-210-108-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a visual inspection of these components:
NOTE: Do not do the visual inspection for oil leaks at the drain mast.
NOTE: There can be different signs of possible leakage:
(a) IDG fittings for leakage: - Very small drops of oil
- Wet areas around the connections
- Oil stripes on the tubes
- Stains or discoloration which can occur when oil or grease touches very hot surfaces.
- The pressure fill port
- The overflow drain port
- The oil-inlet and oil-outlet ports (cooling circuit interface with the IDG)
- The case drain
- The vacuum break valve.
If you find an oil leak at:
2 The overflow drain port, replace the overflow drain valve-coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-803).
3 The oil-inlet and oil-outlet ports (cooling circuit interface with the IDG) or the case drain, replace the related fitting.
4 The vacuum break valve:
- Remove the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803) .
- Send the IDG to the workshop to replace the vacuum break valve.
- Install the serviceable IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-803) .
1 For tubing:
- If you find cracks on the tubes, the hoses and the tube coupling nuts, replace them.
- Replace the broken or the cracked brackets.
- Replace the worn clamps.
- Install the missing nuts and the bolts.
- Tighten the loose nuts and the bolts.
- The oil-inlet and oil-outlet ports (cooling circuit interface with the fuel/oil heat-exchanger)
- The drain plug
- The body of the fuel/oil heat-exchanger.
(d) IDG oil/oil heat-exchanger for leakage:
- The oil-inlet and oil-outlet ports (cooling circuit interface with the oil/oil heat-exchanger)
- The drain plug
- The body of the oil/oil heat-exchanger.
(2) If you find components wet with oil, make sure that you find and correct all the causes.
If necessary, fill the IDG with oil (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-612-803).
B. Check of the Electrical Circuits
(1) Make sure that the wiring harnesses are in the correct condition.
(2) Make sure that the electrical connectors are correctly connected.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the wiring harnesses are in the correct condition.
(2) Make sure that the electrical connectors are correctly connected.
