A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Visual Inspection
(1) Do a visual inspection of these components:
1 Tubing
(2) If you find components wet with oil, make sure that you find and correct all the causes.
If necessary, fill the oil tank (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-612-041).
Subtask 24-21-00-210-059-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a visual inspection of these components:
NOTE: There can be different signs of possible leakage:
(a) IDG fittings for leakage: - Droplets of oil
- Wet areas around connections, oil stripes on tubes
- Stains or discoloration which can occur when oil or grease is in contact with very hot surfaces.
- Pressure fill port
- Overflow drain port
- Oil-in and oil-out ports (cooling circuit interface with the IDG)
- Case drain.
- The pressure fill port, replace the pressure fill half-coulping (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).
- The overflow drain port, replace the overflow drain half-coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-040) and (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-040).
- The oil-in and oil-out ports (cooling circuit interface with the IDG) or case drain, replace the related fitting.
1 Tubing
- No cracks are permitted on tubes, hoses and tube coupling nuts.
- There is no limit for the number of nicks and scratches if the depth is not more than 0.25 mm (0.0098 in.) (after removal of the high metal).
- Two dents for each tube are permitted if they are of a smooth contour up to 1.27 mm (0.0500 in.) depth.
You must replace all tubes or hoses that are not in these limits.
- Replace broken or cracked brackets.
- Replace worn clamps.
- Install missing nuts and bolts.
- Tighten loose nuts and bolts.
- Oil-in and oil-out ports (cooling circuit interface with the cooler)
- Drain plug
- Body of the cooler.
(2) If you find components wet with oil, make sure that you find and correct all the causes.
