4. Procedure
Subtask 23-73-41-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Passenger Interface and Supply Adapter (PISA) with audio function and the Passenger Call Switches
CAUTION: OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD) DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS:
  • STAY ON A CONDUCTIVE SURFACE THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED.
  • USE A CONDUCTIVE WRIST-STRAP THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED. (CONNECTED TO A BONDING-POINT NEAR THE WORK AREA).
  • BEFORE YOU USE THE TOOLS, MOMENTARILY HOLD THEM AGAINST AN ELECTRICAL GROUND TO RELEASE STATIC ELECTRICITY.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD. DO NOT TOUCH IT DIRECTLY. IT IS EASY TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THIS COMPONENT.
   (1) Install the Passenger Call Switches.

NOTE: Be careful when you work on the lowered Passenger Service Unit (PSU). If you use too much force, it is easy to move the PSU in the mounting rail too much. This can cause damage to the hinge in the mounting rail.
     (a) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
     (b) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

NOTE: Touch the edges of the horizontal Printed Circuit Board (PCB) (9) with the Passenger Call Switch on it to install it. Try not to touch the PCB.

NOTE: It is necessary that the latches (10) are correctly engaged to the related cutouts in the PCB (9).
     (d) Carefully install the PCBs (9) with the Passenger Call Switch on it to the PSU (3) and make sure the latches (10) are in position.
   (2) Install the PISA
     (a) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
     (b) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

NOTE: Touch the edges of the PISA (8) to install it. Try not to touch the Printed Circuit Board directly.

NOTE: It is necessary that the latches (6) are correctly engaged to the related cutouts in the PISA (8).
     (d) Carefully install the PISA (8) to the PSU (3) and make sure the latches (6) are in position.
   (3) Connect the electrical connectors
CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Connect the electrical connectors (7) to the PISA (8) as identified during removal and make sure they lock in position with a click.
     (d) Carefully install the cover (4) on the PSU (3) and make sure it locks in position on the latches (5) with a click.
     (e) Remove the antistatic equipment.
     (f) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the PSU
     (a) Lift the PSU (3) and engage it in the mounting rail (2).
     (b) Install the section hose (1) with the 98A25208001000 PULLEY ASSY-SEALING to the mounting rail (2).
NOTE: Make sure that the section hose is not expanded. Move the pulley assembly forward and rearward to prevent this.
