A. Installation of the Passenger Interface and Supply Adapter (PISA) with audio function and the Passenger Call Switches
CAUTION: OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD) DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS:
  • STAY ON A CONDUCTIVE SURFACE THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED.
  • USE A CONDUCTIVE WRIST-STRAP THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED. (CONNECTED TO A BONDING-POINT NEAR THE WORK AREA).
  • BEFORE YOU USE THE TOOLS, MOMENTARILY HOLD THEM AGAINST AN ELECTRICAL GROUND TO RELEASE STATIC ELECTRICITY.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD. DO NOT TOUCH IT DIRECTLY. IT IS EASY TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THIS COMPONENT.
   (1) Install the PISA
NOTE: Be careful when you work on the lowered PSU. If you use too much force, it is easy to move the PSU in the mounting rail too much. This can cause damage to the hinge in the mounting rail.
     (a) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
     (b) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (d) Carefully install the horizontal PCB (9) with the Passenger Call Switches on it to the PSU (3) with new plastic rivets (10).
NOTE: Make sure that the installation direction of the horizontal PCB (9) is correct. The connectors on the horizontal PCB (9) have to point away from the cabin side of the PSU. The LEDs on the horizontal PCB (9) have to point to the cabin side of the PSU and to the seat row numbering light.
     (e) Tilt the horizontal PCB (9) under the latches (11) on the reading light side of the PSU (3). Move the opposite edge of the horizontal PCB (9) down and under the remaining latches (11).
     (f) Start to lock the latches (11) near the connector (8A) and make sure the latches (11) lock the horizontal PCB (9) in position.
NOTE: It is necessary that the latches (11) are correctly engaged to the related cutouts in the horizontal PCB (9).
     (g) Carefully install the vertical PCB of the PISA (9A) on the top of the horizontal PCB (9). Make sure that you install the vertical PCB (9A) in the correct direction and in the correct position.
     (h) Touch the edges of the vertical PCB (9A) to carefully align it with the slots in the PSU (3).
     (i) Attach the vertical PCB (9A) of the PISA with the plastic rivets (10) to the PSU (3).
   (2) Connect the electrical connectors.
CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
     (b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
     (c) Connect the electrical connectors (8, 8A, 8B) to the vertical PCB of the PISA (9A).
     (d) Carefully install the cover (4) on the PSU (3) and make sure it locks in position on the latches (7) with a click.
     (e) Attach the cable harness (6) with new TIE WRAP (5) to the cover (4).
   (3) Remove the antistatic equipment.
     (a) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the PSU.
     (a) Lift the PSU (3) and engage it in the mounting rail (2).
     (b) Install the section hose (1) with the 98A25208001000 PULLEY ASSY-SEALING to the mounting rail (2).
NOTE: Make sure that the section hose is not expanded. Move the pulley assembly forward and rearward to prevent this.
