4. Procedure
Subtask 23-73-41-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Passenger Interface and Supply Adapter (PISA) with audio function and the Passenger Call Switches
   (1) Open the Passenger Service Unit (PSU).
     (a) Remove the section hose (1) from one side of the mounting rail (2).
     (b) Pull and lower the PSU (3).
NOTE: Be careful when you work on the lowered PSU. If you use too much force, it is easy to move the PSU in the mounting rail too much. This can cause damage to the hinge in the mounting rail.
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connectors.
CAUTION: OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD) DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS:
  • STAY ON A CONDUCTIVE SURFACE THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED.
  • USE A CONDUCTIVE WRIST-STRAP THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED. (CONNECTED TO A BONDING-POINT NEAR THE WORK AREA).
  • BEFORE YOU USE THE TOOLS, MOMENTARILY HOLD THEM AGAINST AN ELECTRICAL GROUND TO RELEASE STATIC ELECTRICITY.
CAUTION: MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connectors (8, 8A, 8B) from the vertical PCB of the PISA (9a).
     (b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Remove the PISA.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD. DO NOT TOUCH IT DIRECTLY. IT IS EASY TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THIS COMPONENT.
     (a) Cut and remove the tie wraps (5) to release the cable harness (6) from the cover (4).
     (b) Discard the tie wraps (5).
     (c) Carefully pull the sidewalls of the cover (4) out and release them from the latches (7) of the PSU (3). Then lift the cover (4) and remove it.
     (d) Remove the plastic rivets (10) with a PIN - NON METALLIC.
     (e) Hold the vertical PCB (9A) on its sides and remove it.
     (f) Put the PCB (9A) into a BAG - ANTISTATIC.
     (g) Release the latches (11) of the PSU (3).
     (h) Hold the horizontal PCB (9) with the Passenger Call Switches on it on its sides and remove it from the PSU (3).
     (i) Put the PCB (9) into a BAG - ANTISTATIC.
