CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE WRIST STRAPS WHEN YOU REMOVE AND INSTALL AN ONBOARD REPLACEABLE MODULE (OBRM). WRIST STRAPS WILL PREVENT POSSIBLE ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGES, WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE OBRM'S.
A. Replacement of the On-Board Replaceable Module (116RH)
F On-Board Replaceable Module ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) On the Flight Attendant Panel (FAP), push the FAP Set-Up key.
  • The indicator light in the FAP Set-Up key comes on.
  • The FAP Set-Up page shows.

NOTE: The IN SLOT status indication for CAM and OBRM always shows on the display.
The IN SLOT indication for I-PRAM is optional.
   (2) Touch the REMOVE button.
  • The message DO YOU REALLY WANT TO REMOVE THE OBRM shows.
   (3) Touch the YES button.
  • The message with the steps that you must do to replace the OBRM shows.
   (4) Release the quick-release fastener (1) and open the cover (2) of the FAP (6).
   (5) Push the quick-release button (3) carefully with a PIN - NON METALLIC to unlock the OBRM (4) from the OBRM slot (5).
   (6) Pull the old OBRM (4) carefully out of the OBRM slot (5).
   (7) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (8) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (9) Push the new OBRM (4) carefully into the respective slot, the OBRM slot (5), until it locks in position.

NOTE: The I-PRAM, CAM and OBRM slots all have the same dimensions. Thus it is mandatory to push the memory card into the correct slot.
   (10) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (11) Close the cover (2) and the quick-release fastener (1).
   (12) On the FAP Set-Up page, touch the OK button.
  • The message INSTALLATION OF THE OBRM WAS SUCCESSFUL shows.
   (13) Touch the OK button to complete the OBRM replacement procedure.
  • The OBRM status indication shows the installed OBRM part number.

B. OBRM - Software Loading, Configuration Test, Interface and Power-Up Test
   (1) On the FAP, push the SW Load key.
  • The indicator light in the SW Load key comes on.
  • The SOFTWARE LOADING page shows.
  • The message WAIT UNTIL ALL CIDS COMPONENTS HAVE SENT THEIR CONFIGURATION shows.
  • Wait approx. 2 minutes, then the message goes out of view.
   (2) If on the SOFTWARE LOADING page one or more components show with an amber background:
NOTE: If no component with an amber background shows on the SOFTWARE LOADING page, no OBRM software download is required.
NOTE: You can ignore the message CHANGE CAM NOW IF NECESSARY.
   (3) Do the Interface and Power-Up test of the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS).

B. OBRM - Software Loading, Configuration Test, Interface and Power-Up Test
   (1) On the FAP, push the SW Load key.
  • The indicator light in the SW Load key comes on.
  • The SOFTWARE LOADING page shows.
  • The message WAIT UNTIL ALL CIDS COMPONENTS HAVE SENT THEIR CONFIGURATION shows.
  • Wait approx. 2 minutes, then the message goes out of view.
   (2) If on the SOFTWARE LOADING page one or more components show with an amber background:
NOTE: If no component with an amber background shows on the SOFTWARE LOADING page, no OBRM software download is required.
NOTE: You can ignore the message CHANGE CAM NOW IF NECESSARY.
   (3) Do the Interface and Power-Up test of the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS).

   (4) Do the BITE test of the Smoke Detection Function (SDF).

   (1) On the FAP, push the SW Load key.

   (3) Load the SMOKE LAYOUT into SDF1 and SDF2 (Ref. AMM TASK 26-10-00-710-801).
   (4) Do the Interface and Power-Up test of the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS).
