1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives the instructions necessary to make sure that the Passenger Address (PA) system operates on the battery bus.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 23-73-00-860-077-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
   (3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL on the overhead panel 25VU is in the OFF position.
   (5) Make sure that during the test procedure normal power is available.

2.In the cockpit:
In the cabin and at all attendant stations:
  • lift the handset from the cradle.

  • push and hold the PTT switch and make an announcement.
  • you hear the announcement.
  • release the PTT switch and put the handset back in the cradle.

3.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 121VU:

  • close the C/Bs
    DIR 1 AND 2/BAT 140RH,
    DEU B/BAT 143RH,
    DEU A/BAT/LINE 1 144RH,
    DEU A/BAT/LINE 2 145RH.

4.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 49VU:

  • open the C/Bs
    DIR 1 AND 2/ESS 150RH,
    DEU B/ESS 153RH,
    DEU A/ESS/LINE 1 154RH,
    DEU A/ESS/LINE 2 155RH.

5.In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 25VU:

  • set the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to the ARM position.
NOTE: Do not set the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to the ON position, because the emergency lighting batteries will discharge.

6.In the cockpit:
In the cabin and at all attendant stations:
  • lift the handset from the cradle.

  • push and hold the PTT switch and make an announcement
  • you hear the announcement.
7.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 49VU:

  • close the C/B DIR 1 AND 2/ESS 150RH.

8.Through the cockpit handset:

  • push and hold the PTT switch and make an announcement.
  • you do not hear the announcement.
9.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 49VU:

  • open the C/B DIR 1 AND 2/ESS 150RH.

10.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 121VU:

  • close the C/B DIR 1 AND 2/NORM 151RH.

11.Through the cockpit handset:

  • push and hold the PTT switch and make an announcement.
  • you do not hear the announcement.
  • release the PTT switch and put the handset back in the cradle.

12.In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 25VU:

  • set the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to the OFF position.

13.In the cockpit, on the C/B Panel 121VU:

  • close the C/Bs
    DEU B/NORM 162RH,
    DEU A/NORM 163RH to 168RH.

14.In the cockpit, on the C/B Panel 49VU:

  • close the C/Bs
    DIR 1 AND 2/ESS 150RH,
    DEU B/ESS 153RH,
    DEU A/ESS/LINE 1 154RH,
    DEU A/ESS/LINE 2 155RH.

6.In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 25VU:

  • set the EMER EXIT LT switch 4WL to the OFF position.

  • close the C/Bs
    DIR 2/NORM 156RH,

15.In the cabin, on the C/B panel 2001VU:

  • close the C/Bs
    CIDS/DEU A NORM MID 2 LH 175RH,

    CIDS/DEU A NORM AFT LH 173RH,
    CIDS/DEU A NORM AFT RH 174RH.

16.In the cockpit, on the C/B panel 49VU:

  • close the C/Bs
    DIR 1/ESS 150RH,
    DIR 2/ESS 157RH,
    DEU B/ESS 153RH,
    DEU A/ESS/LINE 1 154RH,
    DEU A/ESS/LINE 2 155RH.
