Reactivation of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR)

1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives the instructions necessary to do the reactivation of the CVR.
This procedure prevents the deletion of the CVR data:

When the aircraft is on jacks.
If there is an incident.

This procedure must agree with the local authorities.

NOTE: This reactivation task is not related to an MMEL/MCDL item.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

4. Procedure
Subtask 23-71-00-440-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Reactivation of the CVR
(1) Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

For 115VAC: 2RK(E14).

Subtask 23-71-00-440-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Reactivation of the CVR
(1) Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

For 28VDC: 23RK(E14).

5. Close-up
Subtask 23-71-00-860-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
