   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 12M (40 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable static discharge retainer.
   (2) Make sure that the applicable static discharger is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 23-61-41-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 23-61-42-560-050-M ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) For the static discharger retainers at zone 324 (vertical stabilizer tip):

     (a) Prepare the electrical bonding of the static discharger retainer (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
     (b) Replace the static discharger retainer without removal of the lightning protection strip SRM 553411.
   (2) For the static discharger retainers at zone 326 (rudder):

     (a) Prepare the electrical bonding of the static discharger retainer (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
     (b) Put the static discharger retainer (1) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (c) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (1).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (d) Prepare the electrical bonding of the static discharger retainer (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
     (e) Put the static discharger retainer (3) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (f) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainers.
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainers and the related holes in the rudder tip are aligned.
   (3) For the static discharger retainers at zone 330 (340) (THS):

     (a) Put the adapter (9) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the adapter (9).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the adapter and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (c) Put the adapter (5) and the static discharger retainer (7) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (d) Drill the holes in the adapter (5) and the static discharger retainer (7).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the adapter are aligned.
     (e) Put the static discharger retainers (10) and (13) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (f) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainers (10) and (13).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainers and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (g) Put the shim (18) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (h) Drill the holes in the shim (18).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the shim and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (i) Put the static discharger retainer (15) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (j) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (15).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (4) For the static discharger retainers at zone 470 (480) (engine pylon) (if applicable):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (10) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (10).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (5) For the static discharger retainers at zones 531 (631), 532 (632) and 533 (633) (flap track fairings):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (4) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (4).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (c) Put the bonding plate (9) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (d) Drill the holes in the bonding plate (9).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the bonding plate and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (6) For the static discharger retainers at zone 590 (690) (ailerons):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainers (10) and (14) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainers (10) and (14).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainers and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (7) For the static discharger retainer at zone 534 (634) (wing tip):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (2) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (2).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (8) For the static discharger retainers at zone 534 (634) (wing tip fence):

     (a) Put the packer (4) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the packer (4).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the packer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (c) Put the static discharger retainer (3) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (d) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (3).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (e) Put the static discharger retainers (5) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (f) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (5).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (g) Put the packer (7) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (h) Drill the holes in the packer (7).

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (4) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (4).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (c) Put the bonding plate (9) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (d) Drill the holes in the bonding plate (9).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the bonding plate and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (6) For the static discharger retainers at zone 590 (690) (ailerons):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (2) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (2).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (7) For the static discharger retainer at zone 534 (634) (wing tip):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (2) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (2).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (8) For the static discharger retainers at zone 534 (634) (wing tip fence):

     (d) Prepare the electrical bonding of the static discharger retainer (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
     (e) Put the static discharger retainer (3) in the correct position on the rudder tip.
     (f) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (3).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (3) For the static discharger retainers at zone 330 (340) (THS):

     (a) Put the adapter (9) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the adapter (9).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the adapter and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (c) Put the adapter (5) and the static discharger retainer (7) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (d) Drill the holes in the adapter (5) and the static discharger retainer (7).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the adapter are aligned.
     (e) Put the static discharger retainers (10) and (13) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (f) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainers (10) and (13).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainers and the related hole in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (g) Put the shim (18) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (h) Drill the holes in the shim (18).

     (i) Put the static discharger retainer (15) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (j) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (15).

   (4) For the static discharger retainers at zone 470 (480) (engine pylon) (if applicable):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (10) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (10).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (5) For the static discharger retainers at zones 531 (631), 532 (632) and 533 (633) (flap track fairings) (if applicable):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (4) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (4).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (c) Put the bonding plate (9) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (d) Drill the holes in the bonding plate (9).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the bonding plate and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (6) For the static discharger retainers at zone 590 (690) (ailerons):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (2) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (2).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (7) For the static discharger retainers at zone 534 (634) (sharklet):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainers (2), (7), (11), (17) and (22) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainers (2), (7), (11), (17) and (22).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainers and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.

A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) For the static discharger retainers at zone 324 (vertical stabilizer tip):

     (a) Prepare the electrical bonding of the static discharger retainer (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).

   (2) For the static discharger retainers at zone 326 (rudder):

     (b) Put the static discharger retainer (1) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (c) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (1).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (d) Prepare the electrical bonding of the static discharger retainer (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
     (e) Put the static discharger retainer (3) in the correct position on the rudder tip.
     (f) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (3).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (3) For the static discharger retainers at zone 330 (340) (THS):

     (a) Put the adapter (9) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.

     (b) Drill the holes in the static discharger retainer (4).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the retainer and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
     (c) Put the bonding plate (9) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.
     (d) Drill the holes in the bonding plate (9).
       1 Make sure that the holes of the bonding plate and the related holes in the aircraft structure are aligned.
   (6) For the static discharger retainers at zone 590 (690) (ailerons):

     (a) Put the static discharger retainer (2) in the correct position on the aircraft structure.

   (7) For the static discharger retainer at zone 534 (634) (wing-tip):

NOTE: This lets the surface of the bonding plate (9) and the static discharger (4) to touch the anti-static paint surface.
   (7) On the composite engine-pylon fairing, do not apply sealant to the static discharger retainer (10).
NOTE: The correct bonding resistance is only possible when the retainer (10) touches the engine-pylon fairing.
