A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2) is in position.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) has been shutdown for at least 5 minutes.
   (3) On the panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is installed.

A. Installation of the Maintenance Interphone Jack

F Air Intake Cowl Interphone Jack ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

NOTE: Make sure that the slot in the shell (4) and the slot in the mounting plate (6) are aligned with the drain hole in the access plate (9) so the water can drain.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Prepare the coupling nut and shell for installation.
     (a) Clean the threads of the coupling nut (1) and shell (4) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) or acetone (Material No.CP1039) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) .
     (b) Wipe dry the threads with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) before the alcohol becomes dry.
     (c) Put one drop of thread locker Locktite 242 (Material No.CP2269) on the threads of the coupling nut (1).
   (4) Remove protective covers from the interphone jack (5) and insulations from the wires.
   (5) Remove the tags and attach the electrical wires to the interphone jack (5) with the screws (16), the washers (15), the lockwashers (13), and nuts (14). TORQUE the nuts to between 0.03 and 0.02 m.daN (2.65 and 1.77 lbf.in ) T.
NOTE: The RED wire goes to RING. The YELLOW wire goes TIP. The BLUE wire goes to sleeve.
   (6) Prepare the interphone and ground jacks and their mounting nuts for installation.
     (a) Clean the threads of the interphone jack (5) and the nuts (8) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.
CP1041) or acetone (Material No.CP1039) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) .
     (b) Wipe the threads of the jack and nut with a clean lint free cloth before the alcohol becomes a gas.
     (c) Put one drop of thread locker Locktite 242 (Material No.CP2269) on the threads of the nut (8).
   (7) Attach the interphone jack (5) to the mounting plate (6) with the nut (8) and the lockwasher (7). TORQUE the nut to between 0.40 and 0.34 m.daN (35.40 and 30.09 lbf.in ) T.
Put one drop of thread locker Locktite 242 (Material No.
CP2269) on the threads of the nut (8).
   (8) Move the shell (4) over the jack (5) until the shell touches the mounting plate (6).
   (9) Move the coupling nut (1) over the pressure plates (17) and the gland (2). Connect the coupling nut (1) to the shell (4). Tighten the nut (1) by hand plus one-eighth turn. Make sure that the electrical wires are tight and do not become twisted when the coupling nut is tightened.
   (10) Install the retainer (3), the shell (4), and the mounting plate (6) to the access plate (9) with the screws (10). TORQUE the screws to between 0.11 and 0.09 m.daN (9.73 and 7.96 lbf.in ) T.
   (11) Install the access plate assembly to the air intake cowl with the bolts (11). TORQUE the bolts to between 0.28 and 0.23 m.daN (24.78 and 20.35 lbf.in )

   (12) Remove protective covers from the interphone jack (35).
   (13) Prepare the interphone and ground jacks and their mounting nuts for installation.
     (a) Clean the threads of the interphone jack (35) and the nuts (8) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) or acetone (Material No.CP1039) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) .
     (b) Wipe the threads of the jack and nut with a clean lint free cloth before the alcohol becomes a gas.
     (c) Put one drop of thread locker Locktite 242 (Material No.CP2269) on the threads of the nut (8).
   (14) Attach the interphone jack (35) to the mounting plate (30) with the nut (8) and the lockwasher (7). TORQUE the nut to between 0.40 and 0.34 m.daN (35.40 and 30.09 lbf.in ) T.
   (15) Install the retainer (3) and the mounting plate (30) to the access plate (9) with the screws (10). TORQUE the screws to between 0.11 and 0.09 m.daN (9.73 and 7.96 lbf.in )

   (16) Install the access plate assembly to the air intake cowl with the bolts (11). TORQUE the bolts to between 0.28 and 0.23 m.daN (24.78 and 20.35 lbf.in )
