Removal of the Maintenance Interphone Jack

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
(3) On the panel 50VU:
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Install a WARNING NOTICE(S).
C. Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position to give access to the air intake cowl.

A. Removal of the Maintenance Interphone Jack
BEFORE SPIB CFM02189MW1
(1) Remove the screws (55) that attach the cover (60) to the air intake cowl.
(2) Pull the cover (60) and interphone jack assembly from the air intake cowl.
(3) Remove the screws (50) that hold the mounting plate (35), shell (25) and retainer (20) on the cover (60).

(4) Remove the screws (105) and (110) that attach the anti-ice vent panel to the air intake-cowl.
(5) Remove the anti-ice vent panel.

(6) Remove the screws (50) that hold the mounting plate (35), shell (25) and retainer (20) on the air intake-cowl.
(7) Get access to the interphone jack assembly through the anti-ice vent opening.

(8) Loosen the coupling nut (5) and remove it from the shell (25).
(9) Move the coupling nut (5), the two pressure plates (10) and the gland (15) to the rear, away from the phone jack.
(10) Remove the nut (45) and the lockwasher (40) that hold the phone jack on the mounting plate (35).
(11) Remove the screws (80), washers (75), lockwashers (70) and nuts (65) that connect the electrical wires to the interphone jack (30).
(12) Disconnect the electrical wires from the interphone jack (30).
(13) Remove the interphone jack (30) from the wire harness.
(14) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the interphone jack (30), and isolate the wires.

(15) Remove the screws (50) that hold the mounting plate (35) and the retainer (55) on the air intake-cowl.
(16) Remove the nut (45) and the lockwasher (40) that hold the interphone jack harness assembly (80) on the mounting plate (35).
(17) Get access to the interphone jack harness assembly (80) through the anti-ice vent panel opening.
(18) Remove the nuts (20), washers (15) and bolts (10) that attach the connector of the interphone jack harness assembly (80) to the air intake-cowl.
(19) Remove the nut (60), washers (65) and (70) and bolt (75) from the flip lock clamp (30).
(20) Open the flip lock clamp (30).
(21) Remove the screws (115) that attach the support plate (120) to the air intake-cowl.
(22) Remove the nut (85) and the washers (90) that attach the ground jack (100) to the support plate (120).
(23) Remove the ground jack (100) from the air intake cowl.
(24) Remove the interphone jack harness assembly (80) from the retainer (55).
(25) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the interphone jack harness assembly (80) and the ground jack (100).

(4) Remove the screws (105) and (110) that attach the anti-ice vent panel to the air intake-cowl.
(5) Remove the anti-ice vent panel.

(6) Remove the screws (50) that hold the mounting plate (35), shell (25) and retainer (20) on the air intake-cowl.
(7) Get access to the interphone jack assembly through the anti-ice vent opening.

(11) Remove the screws (80), washers (75), lockwashers (70) and nuts (65) that connect the electrical wires to the interphone jack (30).

(13) Remove the interphone jack (30) from the wire harness.
(14) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the interphone jack (30), and isolate the wires.

(16) Remove the nut (45) and the lockwasher (40) that hold the interphone jack harness assembly (80) on the mounting plate (35).
(17) Get access to the interphone jack harness assembly (80) through the anti-ice vent panel opening.
(18) Remove the nuts (20), washers (15) and bolts (10) that attach the connector of the interphone jack harness assembly (80) to the air intake-cowl.
(19) Remove the nut (60), washers (65) and (70) and bolt (75) from the flip lock clamp (30).
(20) Open the flip lock clamp (30).
(21) Remove the screws (115) that attach the support plate (120) to the air intake-cowl.
(22) Remove the nut (85) and the washers (90) that attach the ground jack (100) to the support plate (120).
(23) Remove the ground jack (100) from the air intake cowl.
(24) Remove the interphone jack harness assembly (80) from the retainer (55).
(25) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the interphone jack harness assembly (80) and the ground jack (100).
