3. Job Set-up
Subtask 23-44-00-860-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) In the cockpit, on the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position for 5 minutes or more before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (3) In the cockpit, on the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (4) Get access to the isolation unit 4RJ3:
     (a) Open the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
     (b) Find the location of the isolation unit 4RJ3:
  • For A318: on FR29
  • For A319: on FR30
  • For A320: on FR33
  • For A321: on FR35.6.
     (c) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the opened forward cargo-compartment door.
     (d) Remove the partition wall FR35.5 or ceiling panels of the forward cargo compartment (Ref. AMM D/O 06-41-53-00) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-001):
  • For A318 between FR28 and FR30
  • For A319 between FR29 and FR34
  • For A320 between FR32 and FR34
  • For A321 on FR35.5.

4. Procedure
Subtask 23-44-00-440-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Reactivation of the Maintenance Interphone Jack from the Forward Cargo Compartment
   (1) Remove and discard the adhesive tape from the deactivated maintenance interphone jack. Also remove and discard the strip of adhesive tape which shows the note "DO NOT USE MAINTENANCE INTERPHONE JACK".
   (2) Clean the skin of the air inlet or the fan cowl in the area where the adhesive tape was applied:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Clean the area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and lint-free cloth, Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) When you connect/install the components, refer to the match marks made during the removal procedure.
   (4) Cut and discard the TIE WRAP(S) to release the harness with the electrical wires of the isolation unit 4RJ3.
   (5) Prepare the electrical wires and make sure that they are clean and in the correct condition.
   (6) If necessary, remove the isolation unit 4RJ3 (Ref. AMM TASK 23-44-42-000-001).
CAUTION: REFER TO THE MATCH MARKS MADE DURING THE REMOVAL WHEN YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF THE WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (7) If necessary, on the isolation unit 4RJ3, remove the PLUG - BLANKING, RED.
   (8) Connect the electrical wires to the connector AA of the isolation unit 4RJ3, ESPM 205455:
     (a) FOR [4000RJ1] (JACK-MAINTENANCE INTERPHONE ENGINE 1)
       1 Connect the electrical wires to the insulation unit 4RJ3:
  • Pins 1F, 1G, 1H, 1J.
     (b) FOR [4000RJ2] (JACK-MAINTENANCE INTERPHONE ENGINE 2)
       1 Connect the electrical wires to the insulation unit 4RJ3:
  • Pins 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D.
   (9) If removed, install the isolation unit 4RJ3 again (Ref. AMM TASK 23-44-42-400-001).

C. Do the operational test of the service interphone system (Ref. AMM TASK 23-44-00-700-001).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Close access to the isolation unit 4RJ3:
     (a) Install the partition wall FR35.5 or ceiling panels of the forward cargo compartment (Ref. AMM D/O 06-41-53-00) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-400-001):
  • For A318 between FR28 and FR30
  • For A319 between FR29 and FR34
  • For A320 between FR32 and FR34
  • For A321 on FR35.5.
     (b) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
     (c) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) In the cockpit:
     (a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
