A. Deactivation of the Maintenance Interphone Jack from the Forward Cargo Compartment
CAUTION: MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) If necessary, remove the isolation unit 4RJ3 (Ref. AMM TASK 23-44-42-000-001).
   (3) Disconnect the following electrical wires from the connector ESPM 205455:
     (a) FOR [4000RJ1] (JACK-MAINTENANCE INTERPHONE ENGINE 1)
1 Disconnect the electrical wires from the insulation unit 4RJ3:
  • Pins 1F, 1G, 1H, 1J.
     (b) FOR [4000RJ2] (JACK-MAINTENANCE INTERPHONE ENGINE 2)
1 Disconnect the electrical wires from the insulation unit 4RJ3:
  • Pins 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D.
   (4) Secure the disconnected electrical wires ESPM 205455.
   (5) On the isolation unit 4RJ3, install the PLUG - BLANKING, RED on the contacts which are not used.
     (a) Temporarily attach the harness with the disconnected electrical wires to the aircraft structure with the TIE WRAP(S).
   (6) If removed, install the isolation unit 4RJ3 again (Ref. AMM TASK 23-44-42-400-001).
   (7) Make a note to tell persons not to use the deactivated maintenance interphone jack:
     (a) Near the deactivated maintenance interphone jack apply a strip of self-adhesive aluminum-tape, Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) . With a MARKER - INDELIBLE write on the tape "DO NOT USE MAINTENANCE INTERPHONE JACK".
