C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
   (2) Do the initialization procedure of the Prerecorded Announcement and Boarding Music (PRAM) reproducer 10RX (Ref. AMM TASK 23-32-00-860-002).
   (3) In the cabin, on all emergency oxygen containers, do step (a) and/or step (b) as applicable:
NOTE: It is not necessary to set the emergency oxygen containers to TEST position, if the emergency announcements are not recorded on the PRAM.
     (a) Pull out the test button with your fingers. Then turn it 90 degrees to the TEST position.
     (b) Push the left side of the test button on the door assembly.
NOTE: The over-center spring keeps the lever of the test button at 90 degrees to the door surface. The lever of the test button must stay in this position until you set it to the initial position.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-861-001).
   (2) In the cabin, on all emergency oxygen containers, do step (a) and/or step (b) as applicable:
NOTE: It is not necessary to set the emergency oxygen containers to TEST position, if the emergency announcements are not recorded on the PRAM.
     (a) Pull out the test button with your fingers. Then turn it 90 degrees to the TEST position.
     (b) Push the left side of the test button on the door assembly.
NOTE: The over-center spring keeps the lever of the test button at 90 degrees to the door surface. The lever of the test button must stay in this position until you set it to the initial position.
   (3) Make sure that the SEAT BELTS switch at the cockpit panel 25VU is in the OFF position.
   (4) Make sure that the NO SMOKING switch (if installed) or the NO PED switch (if installed) or the EXIT switch (if installed) at the cockpit panel 25VU is in the OFF position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 23-32-00-710-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Test of the Prerecorded Announcement Operation
NOTE: The subsequent procedure is a general test. The prerecorded announcements are normally established by the operator in accordance with the PRAM-Vendor. Therefore the prerecorded announcement numbers may be different.
NOTE: You can check the announcement only if they are recorded.
   (1) Do this test.

1.On the circuit breaker panel 2000VU:
  • Close the circuit breaker PRAM (2RX).
On the Forward Attendant Panel (FAP) 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • All displays show '0'.
  • The cursor is in the MEMO 1 position.
2.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Set the announcement 1 to MEMO 1 and push the ENTER pushbutton switch.
On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The MEMO 1 display shows '1'.
  • The cursor moves to the MEMO 2 position.
  • After some seconds the READY light comes on.
3.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Set the announcement 2 to MEMO 2 and push the ENTER pushbutton switch.
On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The MEMO 2 display shows '2'.
  • The cursor moves to the MEMO 3 position.
4.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Set the announcement 3 to MEMO 3 and push the ENTER pushbutton switch.
On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The MEMO 3 display shows '3'.
  • The cursor moves to the MEMO 1 position.
5.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Push the START NEXT pushbutton switch.
On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The number shown on the MEMO 1 display moves to the ON ANNOUNCE display.
  • The number shown on the MEMO 2 display moves to the MEMO 1 display.
  • The number shown on the MEMO 3 display moves to the MEMO 2 display.
  • The MEMO 3 display shows '0'.

In the cabin and the lavatories:
  • You can hear the announcement 1 from the loudspeakers.
NOTE: After an announcement has finished the ON ANNOUNCE display shows '0'.
6.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Push the START ALL pushbutton switch.
In the cabin and the lavatories:
  • You can hear the announcements 2 and 3 from the loudspeakers in sequence.

On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The READY light goes off.
7.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Set the announcement 1 to MEMO 1 and push the ENTER pushbutton switch.
On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The MEMO 1 display shows '1'.
  • After some seconds the READY light comes on.
8.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Push the START NEXT pushbutton switch and before the announcement has finished Push the STOP pushbutton switch.
On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The number shown on the MEMO 1 display moves to the ON ANNOUNCE display.

In the cabin and the lavatories:
  • You can hear the announcement 1 from the loudspeakers until you push the STOP pushbutton switch.

On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The ON ANNOUNCE display shows '0'.
9.On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • Set the announcement 350 to MEMO 1.
On the FAP 120RH, prerecorded announcement section:
  • The MEMO 1 display shows '350'.

  • Push the ENTER pushbutton switch.

B. Test of the Emergency Announcement
CAUTION: DO NOT PUSH IN THE "MASK MAN ON" PUSHBUTTON SWITCH 14WR FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUSH IN THE "MASK MAN ON" PUSHBUTTON SWITCH 14WR FOR MORE THAN 5 SECONDS.
   (1) Make sure that the door stops on the emergency oxygen containers are pulled out and turned to the TEST position.
NOTE: This Test is necessary, if an emergency announcement is recorded on the PRAM.

1.On the cockpit overhead panel 21VU, oxygen control section:
  • Lift the guard and push the oxygen MASK MAN ON pushbutton.
On the cockpit overhead panel 21VU, oxygen control section:
  • The PASSENGER SYS ON light on the right side of the MASK MAN ON switch comes on.

In the cabin:
  • The automatic emergency announcement is heard from all the cabin and lavatory loudspeakers.

D. Operational Test of the Passenger Emergency Oxygen System
   (1) Do the test of the passenger emergency oxygen system:
NOTE: If you push the MASK MAN ON pushbutton switch for more than 30 seconds, the FAULT indication light in the TMR RESET pushbutton switch comes on.
NOTE: The prerecorded announcements are usually recorded by the operator.
You can hear the emergency announcement only if it is recorded.

On the overhead panel 21VU:
  • Lift the switch guard and push the MASK MAN ON pushbutton switch for a minimum of 2 seconds.
  • The SYS ON indicator light comes on.

On the FAP 120RH:

  • The message AUTO (name of the decompression announcements) is shown on the ON ANNOUNCE display.

In the cabin:

  • The doors of all emergency oxygen containers open to the maximum permitted by the test buttons.

  • The emergency announcement starts.
NOTE: At the end of the emergency announcement it stops automatically.

On the FAP 120RH:

  • When the automatic emergency announcement is completed, the AUTO messages go off.

2.On the maintenance panel 50VU:
On the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Push the TMR RESET pushbutton switch.
  • The ON indicator light on the TMR RESET pushbutton switch comes on while the pushbutton is pushed.

On the panel 21VU:
  • The SYS ON indicator light goes off.
5. Close-up
Subtask 23-32-00-410-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) On all emergency oxygen containers:
     (a) Close the doors of the emergency oxygen containers:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER. IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE LATCH MECHANISM. IF THE LATCH MECHANISM DOES NOT ENGAGE EASILY, MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT IN THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN CONTAINER IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
       1 Push the door of the emergency oxygen container to the closed position.
       2 Push the door of the emergency oxygen container, at both sides of the test button, to lock the latch mechanism.
       3 Make sure that the door is flush with the adjacent panels.
       4 Do step (b) and/or step (c) as applicable.
     (b) Turn the test buttons 90 degrees to normal position.
NOTE: Spring tension will retract the test buttons automatically when they are in the normal position.

     (c) Push the test buttons back to the normal position and let them retract into their containers.
NOTE: Spring tension retracts the test buttons automatically when they are in the normal position.
   (2) Make sure that the switch guard is in position on the MASK MAN ON pushbutton switch.
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
