A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at access door 824.
   (3) Make sure that access door 824 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

4. Procedure
Subtask 23-28-32-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the SIM Card in the SCM
CAUTION: OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD) DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS:
  • STAY ON A CONDUCTIVE SURFACE THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED.
  • USE A CONDUCTIVE WRIST-STRAP THAT IS ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED. (CONNECTED TO A BONDING-POINT NEAR THE WORK AREA).
  • BEFORE YOU USE THE TOOLS, MOMENTARILY HOLD THEM AGAINST AN ELECTRICAL GROUND TO RELEASE STATIC ELECTRICITY.
   (1) Make sure that you do not touch the metal contacts of the SIM card (4).
   (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Remove the new SIM CARD from its packaging.
  • Hold it at the end with the cut-off corner.
   (5) Make sure that the SIM card (4) is registered with the provider.
   (6) Lift the SIM card holder and put the SIM card (4) into the SCM (3).
   (7) Make sure that the metal contacts of the SIM card (4) point down.
   (8) Put the SIM card holder back to its initial position.
   (9) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.05BAA1) on the leading male thread of the screws (1) but keep the first thread free.
   (10) Install the SCM cover (2) with the screws (1).
   (11) TORQUE the screws (1) to between 0.08 and 0.06 m.daN (7.08 and 5.31 lbf.in ) T.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close access door 824 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
