B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) is in position at zone 230.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) is in position at zone 230.
Subtask 23-28-13-910-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Remove the used sealant with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and clean the fuselage structure with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Apply TAPE - MASKING to the screw holes and the antenna connectors.
Subtask 23-28-13-420-055-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Remove the used sealant with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and clean the fuselage structure with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Apply TAPE - MASKING to the screw holes and the antenna connectors.
B. Installation of the Top Antenna
(1) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the bottom of the antenna (2).
(2) Remove the TAPE - MASKING from the screw holes and the electrical connector (3).
(3) Make sure that the mounting base (6) is installed (interface between the fuselage and the antenna) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-28-13-400-003).
(4) Make sure that the three O-rings (5) are in good condition.
(5) Install the three AIPC 23-28-13-21-010 O-RINGS (5). If necessary, install new O-rings.
(6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Connect the electrical connector (3) and the coaxial connectors (4) to the antenna (2).
14QDB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.5 mm (0.020 inch) CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(9) Install the antenna (2) on the mounting base (6).
(10) Install and TORQUE the screws (1) to between 22 and 18 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.20 m.daN )
in a diagonal sequence.
(11) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the antenna (2) and the fuselage structure is not more than 5.0 milliohms (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 23-28-13-865-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the bottom of the antenna (2).
(2) Remove the TAPE - MASKING from the screw holes and the electrical connector (3).
(3) Make sure that the mounting base (6) is installed (interface between the fuselage and the antenna) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-28-13-400-003).
(4) Make sure that the three O-rings (5) are in good condition.
(5) Install the three AIPC 23-28-13-21-010 O-RINGS (5). If necessary, install new O-rings.
(6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Connect the electrical connector (3) and the coaxial connectors (4) to the antenna (2).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(8) Safety the electrical connector (3) and the coaxial connectors (4) with (9) Install the antenna (2) on the mounting base (6).
(10) Install and TORQUE the screws (1) to between 22 and 18 lbf.in (0.25 and 0.20 m.daN )
in a diagonal sequence. (11) Make sure that the bonding contact resistance between the antenna (2) and the fuselage structure is not more than 5.0 milliohms (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU MAKE THE SEALING BEAD AROUND THE ANTENNA, DO NOT PUT SEALANT ON THE VENT HOLES AT THE REAR OF THE ANTENNA.
(12) Make a sealing bead with Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Quick Curing - (Material No.06ABF1) around the antenna (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-11-300-001). NOTE: You can use Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay - (Material No.06AAC1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Quick Curing - (Material No.06ABF1) as an alternative to Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) .
(13) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Quick Curing - (Material No.06ABF1) to all the screw heads. C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
