B. Get access to the avionics compartment.
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 824.
   (2) Open the access door 824.

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the ground configuration.

E. Installation of the Laptop
   (1) Make sure that the LAPTOP - WEB BROWSER AND ETHERNET PORT has a web browser (Mozilla Firefox or equivalent).
   (2) Unlock and open the front door of the Satellite Data Unit (SDU).
   (3) Connect the LAPTOP - WEB BROWSER AND ETHERNET PORT cable to the SDU.
NOTE: Mozilla Firefox ® is the recommended web browser for the SDU.

F. Start of the Laptop
   (1) Start the LAPTOP - WEB BROWSER AND ETHERNET PORT.
   (2) Enter "192.168.128.1" in the address bar.
   (3) Before you open the web page, clear the cache of the web browser or click Ctrl+F5 and again open the web page.

A. Uploading of the SDU Operational Software-Component
   (1) Enter a maintenance user login and select the maintenance mode.
   (2) Get the applicable SATCOM media from the media storage box.
   (3) Upload the SDU operational software-component (refer to the AFIRS 228 installation manual).
NOTE: When you stop the dataloading mode, the system starts again automatically.

B. Uploading of the SDU Owner Requirement Table (ORT) Software-Component
   (1) Enter a maintenance user login and select the maintenance mode.
   (2) Get the applicable SATCOM media from the media storage box.
   (3) Upload the SDU ORT software-component (refer to the AFIRS 228 installation manual).
NOTE: When you stop the dataloading mode, the system starts again automatically.

C. Uploading of the SDU ICT Software-Component
   (1) Enter a maintenance user login and select the maintenance mode.
   (2) Get the applicable SATCOM media from the media storage box.
   (3) Upload the SDU ICT software-component (refer to the AFIRS 228 installation manual).
NOTE: When you stop the dataloading mode, the system starts again automatically.

On the MCDU:
  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "SAT" indication.
  • The "SATCOM MAIN MENU" page comes into view.
2.On the "SATCOM MAIN MENU" page:

  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "SATCOM STATUS" indication.
  • The "SATCOM STATUS" page comes into view.
3.On the "SATCOM STATUS" page:

  • Push the line select key adjacent to the "CONFIG" indication.
  • The "SATCOM CONFIG" page comes into view.
  • The P/N(s) of the software component(s) shown on this page is(are) the same as the P/N(s) written on the media.

E. Stop the laptop
   (1) Stop the laptop web browser.
   (2) Stop the LAPTOP - WEB BROWSER AND ETHERNET PORT.

F. Removal of the Laptop
   (1) Disconnect the LAPTOP - WEB BROWSER AND ETHERNET PORT cable from the SDU.
   (2) Close and lock the front door of the SDU.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Put the media in the media storage box.

   (2) Close the access door 824.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
