A. Operational Test of the Two HF Systems (Reception)
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the RMP1:
On the RMP1:
  • Set the ON/OFF selector switch to ON.
  • The RMP shows the last frequencies and the last function used.
  • Push the HF1 pushbutton switch.
  • The green LED on this pushbutton switch comes on.
  • The SEL indicator light (amber LED) comes on.

  • In the STBY/CRS display window, with the dual selector knob, set the frequency of a station that transmits.

  • Start this frequency. To do this, push the transfer pushbutton switch (double arrow) between the two display windows.
  • The frequency set comes into view in the left window.

2.On the RMP2:
On the RMP2:
  • Do the same procedure as for the RMP1, but set the HF2 system and a different frequency.
  • You must get the same results as in step 1.
3.On the Captain's ACP:
On the Captain's ACP:
  • Push the HF1 transmission pushbutton switch.
  • The green bars on the HF1 transmission pushbutton switch come on.
  • Push and release the HF1 reception pushbutton switch and turn it to the middle position.
  • The reception pushbutton switch moves fully out and comes on.

4.On the Captain's side stick controller:

  • Push and then release the radio PTT switch.
During the tuning (which continues for approximately 5 seconds), the reception stops and you can hear a 1000Hz signal in the Captain's boomset.

5.On the First Officer's ACP:
On the First Officer's ACP:
  • Push the HF2 transmission pushbutton switch.
  • The green bars on the HF2 transmission pushbutton switch come on.
  • Push and release the HF2 reception pushbutton switch and turn it to the middle position.
