Uploading of the High Frequency Data Radio (HFDR) Software

NOTE: If HFDR 2 is installed, it is necessary to do the uploading for each HFDR transceiver in the sequence that follows:
- Upload the software to HFDR transceiver 1.
- Interchange the two HFDR transceivers.
- Upload the software to the other HFDR transceiver.
- Put the HFDR transceivers back to their initial positions.

A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Prepare the media disk(s).
(1) Get the media disk(s) from the storage box in the cockpit.
(2) Make sure that the Part Number(s) (P/N) written on the media disk(s) is(are) the same as the P/N written in the airline configuration-management document.
(a) If the media disk(s) is(are) not available or not the correct one(s), contact your airline engineering department to get the correct part number(s) applicable to the aircraft.

E. Do a Check of the Reference(s) of the Software Pre-loaded in the HFDR Transceiver
(1) Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/COM page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-003).
(2) If the access to the HF 1 menu page and then to the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is not possible:

No software is loaded in the HFDR transceiver and you can do the uploading procedure as given in Para 4.A.

(3) If the access to the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is possible:

Do a check of the reference of the software pre-loaded in the HFDR transceiver:

1.On the MCDU, on the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/COM page: Push the line key adjacent to the HF 1 indication.	On the MCDU: The HF 1 menu page comes into view.
2.On the HF 1 page: Push the line key adjacent to the LRU IDENT indication.	On the MCDU: The LRU IDENTIFICATION page comes into view.

(4) Make sure that the reference of the software pre-loaded in the HFDR transceiver on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is different from the reference of the software written on the media disk(s).

4. Procedure
Subtask 23-11-00-610-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Upload the HFDR 1 Software (with the PDL through ARINC 615)
(1) Do the onboard software-uploading procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-38-00-610-804).

Subtask 23-11-00-280-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

B. Do a Check of the Reference(s) of the Software Loaded in the HFDR Transceiver
(1) Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/COM page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-003).
(2) Do a check of the reference of the software loaded in the HFDR 1 transceiver:

1.On the MCDU, on the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/COM page: Push the line key adjacent to the HF 1 indication.	On the MCDU: The HF 1 menu page comes into view.
2.On the HF 1 page: Push the line key adjacent to the LRU IDENT indication.	On the MCDU: The LRU IDENTIFICATION page comes into view.

(3) Make sure that the reference of the software loaded in the HFDR 1 transceiver on the LRU IDENTIFICATION page is the same as the reference of the software written on the media disk(s).

5. Close-up
Subtask 23-11-00-860-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On the MCDU, push the line key adjacent to the RETURN indication until the CFDS menu page comes into view.
(2) On the MCDU, fully decrease the intensity of the light of the MCDU screen (display off).
(3) Put the media disk(s) back into the storage box in the cockpit.

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
