Installation of the Sensor Duct
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT AIR IS NOT SUPPLIED TO THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FROM THE MAIN ENGINE, THE APU OR A GROUND SOURCE.
HOT COMPRESSED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPONENT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY
COOL TO PREVENT BURNS.
CAUTION:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON OR NEAR THE AIR-CONDITIONING DUCTS. THE DUCTS ARE MADE OF THIN MATERIAL AND YOU CAN EASILY BREAK THEM.

C. Safety Precautions
(1) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
(b) Make sure that the ENG 1 BLEED and the ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(c) Make sure that the PACK 1 and the PACK 2 pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
(d) Make sure that the HOT AIR pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
(e) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate these pushbutton switches.
(2) At access doors 191CB and 191DB:
(a) On the LP and the HP ground connectors, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to supply the ground air.
Subtask 21-58-61-010-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:

D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at zone 191.
(2) Make sure that access panel(s) 191KB and/or 192KB is (are) removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).

4. ProcedureSubtask 21-58-61-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Sensor Duct
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(6) Apply a small quantity of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the new AIPC 21-58-54-01-220 PACKING (17).
(7) Put the packing (17) in position on the sensor duct (10).
(8) Put the sensor duct (10) in position on the temperature control module (1).
(9) Install the washers (16), the screws (15) and the nuts (18).
(10) Tighten the nuts (18).
(11) Install the washers (12), the screws (19) and the nuts (11).
(12) Tighten the nuts (11).
(13) Measure the value of dimension A:
(15) Make sure that the value of dimension of C is between 135.5 mm (5.33 in.) and 137.5 mm (5.41 in.).
(16) Install a new AIPC 21-58-03-01-450 SEAL (6) or AIPC 21-58-03-01-460 SEAL (6) or AIPC 21-58-83-01-660 SEAL (6) between the ducts (4) and (10).
(17) Install the seal (7) between the ducts (4) and (10).
(18) Install the screws (2), washers (3), bonding strap (5) and nuts (9).
(19) Tighten the nuts (9).
(20) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(21) Install the pressure sensor (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 21-58-12-400-001).
(22) Install the duct temperature sensor (13) (Ref. AMM TASK 21-58-11-400-001).
Subtask 21-58-61-865-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(6) Apply a small quantity of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the new AIPC 21-58-54-01-220 PACKING (17).
(7) Put the packing (17) in position on the sensor duct (10).
(8) Put the sensor duct (10) in position on the temperature control module (1).
(9) Install the washers (16), the screws (15) and the nuts (18).
(10) Tighten the nuts (18).
(11) Install the washers (12), the screws (19) and the nuts (11).
(12) Tighten the nuts (11).
(13) Measure the value of dimension A:
- If the value of dimension A is between 86 mm (3.39 in.) and 87 mm (3.43 in.), install seal (7) 3960-1011.
- If the value of dimension A is between 85 mm (3.35 in.) and 86 mm (3.39 in.), install seal (7) 3960-1012.
- If the value of dimension A is between 84 mm (3.31 in.) and 85 mm (3.35 in.), install seal (7) 3960-1013.
(15) Make sure that the value of dimension of C is between 135.5 mm (5.33 in.) and 137.5 mm (5.41 in.).
(16) Install a new AIPC 21-58-03-01-450 SEAL (6) or AIPC 21-58-03-01-460 SEAL (6) or AIPC 21-58-83-01-660 SEAL (6) between the ducts (4) and (10).
(17) Install the seal (7) between the ducts (4) and (10).
(18) Install the screws (2), washers (3), bonding strap (5) and nuts (9).
(19) Tighten the nuts (9).
(20) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(21) Install the pressure sensor (14) (Ref. AMM TASK 21-58-12-400-001).
(22) Install the duct temperature sensor (13) (Ref. AMM TASK 21-58-11-400-001).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(b) Examine the sensor duct (10) for signs of air leakage.
(2) If necessary, repair the leak.
5. Close-upWARNING:
PUT ON PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND THERMAL GLOVES WHEN YOU GO NEAR AN AIR-CONDITIONING PACK WHEN IT OPERATES. THERE CAN BE LEAKAGE OF HOT AIR, WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
(1) Do the two subsequent steps at the same time. NOTE: Two persons are necessary to do these steps.
(a) Do the operational test of the conditioned service air system with bleed air (Ref. AMM TASK 21-58-00-710-002). (b) Examine the sensor duct (10) for signs of air leakage.
(2) If necessary, repair the leak.
Subtask 21-58-61-410-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the removed access panel(s) 191KB and/or 192KB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 21-58-61-862-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the removed access panel(s) 191KB and/or 192KB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
