C. Safety Precautions
   (1) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
     (a) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
     (b) Make sure that the ENG 1 BLEED and the ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
     (c) Make sure that the PACK 1 and the PACK 2 pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
     (d) Make sure that the HOT AIR pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
     (e) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to operate these pushbutton switches.
   (2) At access doors 191CB and 191DB:
     (a) On the LP and the HP ground connectors, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to supply the ground air.

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at zone 191.
   (2) Make sure that access panel(s) 191KB and/or 192KB is (are) removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).

4. Procedure
Subtask 21-58-61-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Bypass Duct, Intlet
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (4) Apply a small quantity of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the new AIPC 21-58-54-01-020 PACKING (15) and AIPC 21-58-54-01-240 PACKING (17).
   (5) Install the new packing (15) on the air duct (10).
   (6) Install the new packing (17) on the air duct (10).
   (7) Put the air duct (10) in position on the temperature control module (1).
   (8) Install the screws (13) and the washers (14).
   (9) Install the screws (18), the washers (11) and the nuts (12).
   (10) Install the clamp (16).
   (11) TORQUE the screws (13) to between 0.27 and 0.23 m.daN (23.89 and 20.35 lbf.in )
T.
   (12) TORQUE the nuts (12) to between 0.77 and 0.63 m.daN (68.14 and 55.75 lbf.in )
T.
   (13) TORQUE the clamp (16) to between 0.57 and 0.51 m.daN (50.44 and 45.13 lbf.in )
T.
   (14) Measure the value of A:
  • If value A is between 106 MM (4.17 IN.) and 107 MM (4.21 IN.), install seal (7) 3960-1011.
  • If value A is between 105 MM (4.13 IN.) and 106 MM (4.17 IN.), install seal (7) 3960-1012.
  • If value A is between 104 MM (4.09 IN.) and 105 MM (4.13 IN.), install seal (7) 3960-1013.
   (15) Make sure that the value of B is between 93 mm (3.66 in.) and 95 mm (3.74 in.).
   (16) Make sure that the value of C is between 72 mm (2.83 in.) and 74 mm (2.91 in.).
   (17) Install a new
AIPC 21-58-03-01-450 NUT (6) or AIPC 21-58-03-01-460 LEAD (6) or AIPC 21-58-83-01-660 SEAL (6) between the ducts (5) and (10).
   (18) Install the seal (7) between the ducts (5) and (10).
   (19) Install the screws (2), bonding straps (3) and (4), washers (8) and nuts (9) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (20) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
Subtask 21-58-61-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Bypass Duct, Inlet
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (4) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
   (5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (6) Apply a small quantity of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the new AIPC 21-58-54-01-020 PACKING (15) and AIPC 21-58-54-01-240 PACKING (17).
   (7) Install the new packing (15) on the air duct (10).
   (8) Install the new packing (17) on the air duct (10).
   (9) Install a new
AIPC 21-58-54-01-085 SEAL (7) on the duct (10).
   (10) Install a new
AIPC 21-58-03-01-450 SEAL (6) or a new AIPC 21-58-83-01-660 SEAL (6) on the duct (10).
   (11) Put the air duct (10) in position on the temperature control module (1).
   (12) Install the washers (14) and the screws (13).
   (13) Install the washers (11), the screws (18) and the nuts (12).
   (14) Install the clamp (16).
   (15) Put the heat shield (19) in position on the duct (5).
   (16) Install the bonding straps (3) and (4), screws (2), washers (8) and nuts (9).
   (17) Tighten the nuts (9) and the nuts (12).
   (18) Tighten the screws (13) and the clamp (16).
   (19) Measure the value of dimension A:
  • If the part number of the installed seal (7) is 3960-1011, then the value of dimension A is between 106 MM (4.17 IN.) and 107 MM (4.21 IN.).
  • If the part number of the installed seal (7) is 3960-1012, then the value of dimension A is between 105 MM (4.13 IN.) and 106 MM (4.17 IN.).
  • If the part number of the installed seal (7) is 3960-1013, then the value of dimension A is between 104 MM (4.09 IN.) and 105 MM (4.13 IN.).
   (20) Make sure that the value of dimension B is between 93 mm (3.66 in.) and 95 mm (3.74 in.).
   (21) Make sure that the value of dimension C is between 72 mm (2.83 in.) and 74 mm (2.91 in.).
   (22) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)

D. Leak Test
WARNING: PUT ON PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND THERMAL GLOVES WHEN YOU GO NEAR AN AIR-CONDITIONING PACK WHEN IT OPERATES. THERE CAN BE LEAKAGE OF HOT AIR, WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
   (1) Do the two subsequent steps at the same time.
NOTE: Two persons are necessary to do these steps.
     (a) Do the operational test of the conditioned service air system with bleed air (Ref. AMM TASK 21-58-00-710-002).
     (b) Examine the air duct (10) for signs of air leakage.
   (2) If necessary, repair the leak.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the removed access panel(s) 191KB and/or 192KB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
