3. Job Set-up
Subtask 21-52-21-860-053-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that these access panels are removed from the belly fairing structure (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002):
     (a) FOR [10HM1] (MACHINE-AIR CYCLE)
     (b) FOR [11HM1] (MACHINE-AIR CYCLE)
   (3) Make sure that the pipe assembly between the anti-ice valve, the bypass valve and the air cycle machine is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-23-000-002).
   (4) Make sure that bypass valve 10HH (30HH) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-53-000-001)
   (5) On AIR COND panel 30VU, make sure that:
     (a) The APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
     (b) The ENG 1 BLEED and ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton switches are released (the OFF legends are on).
     (c) The WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate these pushbutton switches.
   (6) On the HP ground connector, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to supply the ground air.

4. Procedure
Subtask 21-52-21-420-053-A
A. Installation of the Compressor Inlet Gasket
   (1) For part number 1263A0000-02/-03:
     (a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (b) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Do a visual inspection of the screws (5):
       1 If you find unusual wear on the screws, replace the screws with the new screws. This will prevent damage to the screw locks.
     (d) Put a new AIPC 21-52-21-02-040 GASKET (2) on the applicable side of the inlet duct (3), between the shoulders.
     (e) Make sure that the holes align correctly.
     (f) Install the inlet duct (3) on the compressor flange (1).
     (g) Make sure that the holes align correctly.
     (h) Apply a layer of Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.
03PBB1) on the threads of the screws (5).
     (i) Install the washers (4) and the screws (5).
     (j) Tighten the screws (5) in a sequence:
  • From one screw to the diagonally opposite screw
  • Do not tighten the adjacent screws.
     (k) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 0.3 and 0.2 m.daN (26.55 and 17.70 lbf.in ) T in the same sequence.
     (l) Install the sleeve and the clamps on the pipe assembly between the compressor inlet duct and the primary heat exchanger (
Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-21-400-001).
     (m) Install the bypass valve (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-53-400-001).
     (n) Install the pipe assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-23-400-001).
     (o) Do not install the access panel at this time.
     (p) Install the pipe assembly between the anti-ice valve, the bypass valve and the air cycle machine (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-23-400-002).
   (2) For part number 757A0000-08/-09/-10:
     (a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (b) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (c) Do a visual inspection of the screws (6):
       1 If you find unusual wear on the screws, replace the screws with the new screws. This will prevent damage to the screw locks.
     (d) Put a new AIPC 21-52-21-02-040 GASKET (8) in position on the applicable side of the inlet duct (9).
     (e) Install the inlet duct (9) on the compressor flange (7).
     (f) Make sure that the holes align correctly.
     (g) Apply a layer of Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.
03PBB1) on the threads of the screws (6).
     (h) Install the screws (6) and the nuts (10).
     (i) Tighten the screws (6) in a sequence:
  • From one screw to the diagonally opposite screw
  • Do not tighten the adjacent screws.
     (j) TORQUE the screws (6) to between 0.47 and 0.39 m.daN (41.59 and 34.51 lbf.in ) T in the same sequence.
     (k) Install the sleeve and the clamps on the pipe assembly between the compressor inlet duct and the primary heat exchanger (
Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-21-400-001).
     (l) Install the bypass valve (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-53-400-001).
     (m) Install the pipe assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-23-400-001).
     (n) Do not install the access panel at this time.
     (o) Install the pipe assembly between the anti-ice valve, the bypass valve and the air cycle machine (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-23-400-002).
   (3) For part number 1263C0000-01:
     (a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (b) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
     (c) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
     (d) Do a visual inspection of the screws (5) and (7):
       1 If you find unusual wear on the screws, replace the screws with the new screws. This will prevent damage to the screw locks.
     (e) Put a new AIPC 21-52-21-02-040 GASKET (2) on the applicable side of the inlet duct (3), between the shoulders.
     (f) Make sure that the holes align correctly.
     (g) Install the inlet duct (3) on the compressor flange (1).
     (h) Make sure that the holes align correctly.
     (i) Prepare for electrical bonding on the inlet duct (3) at the screw (7).
     (j) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
     (k) Apply a layer of Lubricant-Anti Seize High Temp. - (Material No.03PBB1) on the threads of the screws (5).
     (l) Install the washers (4) and (6) and the screws (5) and (7).
     (m) Tighten the screws (5) and (7) in a sequence:
  • From one screw to the diagonally opposite screw
  • Do not tighten the adjacent screws.
     (n) TORQUE the screws (5) to between 0.28 and 0.23 m.daN (24.78 and 20.35 lbf.in ) T in the same sequence.
     (o) TORQUE the screw (7) to between 0.34 and 0.28 m.daN (30.09 and 24.78 lbf.in )
T.
     (p) Apply a layer of Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material No.
04TMB2) on the screw (7).
     (q) Install the sleeve and the clamps on the pipe assembly between the compressor inlet duct and the primary heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-21-400-001).
     (r) Install the bypass valve (Ref. AMM TASK 21-61-53-400-001).
     (s) Install the pipe assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-23-400-001).
     (t) Do not install the access panel at this time.
     (u) Install the pipe assembly between the anti-ice valve, the bypass valve and the air cycle machine (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-23-400-002).

C. Test(s)
   (1) Do the preconditioning through the HP ground connector (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001) or with the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001).
   (2) Do a leak check from the connection of the compressor inlet duct to the ACM casing, pipe assembly, bypass and anti-ice valve connections:
     (a) Make sure that there are no leaks.
   (3) After approximately 15 minutes, stop the pre-conditioning (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001).
   (4) Do the operational test of the cockpit and the cabin temperature control system (Ref. AMM TASK 21-63-00-710-004).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the access panel on the belly fairing structure (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002):
     (a) FOR [10HM1] (MACHINE-AIR CYCLE)
     (b) FOR [11HM1] (MACHINE-AIR CYCLE)
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
