Subtask 21-52-00-340-050-A
A. Replacement of a Shouldered Bushing
(1) For the upper attachment points:
(a) Use an applicable method and remove the shouldered bushing (2) from its bracket.
(b) On the bracket, clean the contact area to be bonded with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(c) On the new shouldered bushing (2) clean the contact area to be bonded with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(d) Refer to the manufactureres instructions and apply a small quantity of Adhesive Activator-- Anaerobic - (Material No.05XAB1) and Retaining adhesive-Cylindrical fitting Medium strength Low viscosity - (Material No.05ABF1) to:
(f) Make sure that the surfaces to be bonded are in good contact with each other.
(g) Remove the unwanted bond material from the shouldered bushing (2) and the bracket with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(h) Let the bonding material cure for the recommended period (4 hours at 24 DEG.C (75.2 DEG.F)).
(i) On the shouldered bushing (2) apply a small bead (1) of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the edge of the
shoulder of the bushing.
(j) The same procedure is applicable for the shouldered bushing (3).
Subtask 21-52-00-350-050-A (1) For the upper attachment points:
(a) Use an applicable method and remove the shouldered bushing (2) from its bracket.
(b) On the bracket, clean the contact area to be bonded with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(c) On the new shouldered bushing (2) clean the contact area to be bonded with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(d) Refer to the manufactureres instructions and apply a small quantity of Adhesive Activator-- Anaerobic - (Material No.05XAB1) and Retaining adhesive-Cylindrical fitting Medium strength Low viscosity - (Material No.05ABF1) to:
- The areas on the shouldered bushing (2).
- The areas on the bracket which are to be bonded.
(f) Make sure that the surfaces to be bonded are in good contact with each other.
(g) Remove the unwanted bond material from the shouldered bushing (2) and the bracket with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(h) Let the bonding material cure for the recommended period (4 hours at 24 DEG.C (75.2 DEG.F)).
(i) On the shouldered bushing (2) apply a small bead (1) of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the edge of the
shoulder of the bushing.
(j) The same procedure is applicable for the shouldered bushing (3).
B. Replacement of a Rod-End in Support Rod 72b (Condensor and Air Conditioning Unit)
(1) For the fixed rod-end (5):
(a) Remove the fixed rod-end (5) from the support rod (72b).
(c) Make sure that you do not damage the support rod (72b).
(d) Clean the threads of the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-080 ROD END-FIXED (5) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(e) Apply a small quantity of Epoxy Adhesive-Non Structural Thermally Conductive - (Material No.05EHK2) to the threads of the fixed rod-end (5).
(f) Put the fixed rod-end (5) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the Dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 306.1 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.0512 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(g) Make sure that the fixed rod-end (5) and the rod-end (2) are in line with each other.
(h) Let the adhesive cure for the recommended time (refer to the manufacturers instructions).
(2) For the adjustable rod-end (2):
(a) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the support rod (72b).
(b) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(c) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(d) Remove and discard the washer (1) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(f) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-050 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(g) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod (72b).
(h) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 306.1 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.0512 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(i) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod (72b).
(j) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end (5) are in line with each other.
(k) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(l) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the support rod (72b).
(m) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).
(n) Move the heat shrink tubing into position over the inspection hole (4) and the nut (3).
(o) Use an applicable GUN - HOT AIR and shrink the tubing until it is tight.
(3) For both the fixed rod-end (5) and the rod-end (2):
(a) Remove the fixed rod-end (5) from the support rod (72b).
(c) Make sure that you do not damage the support rod (72b).
(d) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the support rod (72b).
(e) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(f) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(g) Remove and discard the washer (1) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(h) Clean the threads of the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-080 ROD END-FIXED (5) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(i) Apply a small quantity of Epoxy Adhesive-Non Structural Thermally Conductive - (Material No.05EHK2) to the threads of the fixed rod-end (5).
(j) Put the fixed rod-end (5) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the Dimension 'A'.
Dimension 'A' = 281.2 +1.0 mm or -1.0 mm (11.0709 +0.0394 in. or -0.0394 in.).
(k) Let the adhesive cure for the recommended time (refer to the manufacturers instructions).
(l) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(m) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-050 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(n) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod (72b).
(o) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 306.1 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.0512 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(p) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod (72b).
(q) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end (5) are in line with each other.
(r) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(s) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the support rod (72b).
(t) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).
(u) Move the heat shrink tubing into position over the inspection hole (4) and the nut (3).
(v) Use an applicable GUN - HOT AIR and shrink the tubing until it is tight.
Subtask 21-52-00-350-051-A (1) For the fixed rod-end (5):
(a) Remove the fixed rod-end (5) from the support rod (72b).
NOTE: The fixed rod-end is attached in the support rod with an adhesive material.
(b) If necessary, apply force to release the fixed rod-end.(c) Make sure that you do not damage the support rod (72b).
(d) Clean the threads of the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-080 ROD END-FIXED (5) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(e) Apply a small quantity of Epoxy Adhesive-Non Structural Thermally Conductive - (Material No.05EHK2) to the threads of the fixed rod-end (5).
(f) Put the fixed rod-end (5) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the Dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 306.1 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.0512 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(g) Make sure that the fixed rod-end (5) and the rod-end (2) are in line with each other.
(h) Let the adhesive cure for the recommended time (refer to the manufacturers instructions).
(2) For the adjustable rod-end (2):
(a) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the support rod (72b).
(b) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(c) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(d) Remove and discard the washer (1) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(f) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-050 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(g) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod (72b).
(h) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 306.1 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.0512 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(i) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod (72b).
(j) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end (5) are in line with each other.
(k) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(l) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the support rod (72b).
(m) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).
(n) Move the heat shrink tubing into position over the inspection hole (4) and the nut (3).
(o) Use an applicable GUN - HOT AIR and shrink the tubing until it is tight.
(3) For both the fixed rod-end (5) and the rod-end (2):
(a) Remove the fixed rod-end (5) from the support rod (72b).
NOTE: The fixed rod-end is attached in the support rod with an adhesive material.
(b) If necessary, apply force to release the fixed rod-end.(c) Make sure that you do not damage the support rod (72b).
(d) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the support rod (72b).
(e) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(f) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(g) Remove and discard the washer (1) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(h) Clean the threads of the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-080 ROD END-FIXED (5) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(i) Apply a small quantity of Epoxy Adhesive-Non Structural Thermally Conductive - (Material No.05EHK2) to the threads of the fixed rod-end (5).
(j) Put the fixed rod-end (5) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the Dimension 'A'.
Dimension 'A' = 281.2 +1.0 mm or -1.0 mm (11.0709 +0.0394 in. or -0.0394 in.).
(k) Let the adhesive cure for the recommended time (refer to the manufacturers instructions).
(l) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(m) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-82-050 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(n) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod (72b).
(o) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod (72b) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 306.1 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.0512 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(p) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod (72b).
(q) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end (5) are in line with each other.
(r) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(s) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the support rod (72b).
(t) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).
(u) Move the heat shrink tubing into position over the inspection hole (4) and the nut (3).
(v) Use an applicable GUN - HOT AIR and shrink the tubing until it is tight.
C. Replacement of the Rod-End in Support Rod 72a (Condensor and Air Conditioning Unit)
(1) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the support rod (72a).
(a) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(b) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(c) Remove and discard the washer (1) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(d) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-81-020 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(e) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-81-090 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(f) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod (72a).
(g) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod (72a) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 309.3 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.1772 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(h) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod (72a).
(i) Make sure that the rod-end (2) is in line with the fork end.
(j) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(k) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the support rod (72a).
(l) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).
(m) Move the heat shrink tubing into position over the inspection hole (4) and the nut (3).
(n) Use an applicable GUN - HOT AIR and shrink the tubing until it is tight.
Subtask 21-52-00-350-052-A (1) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the support rod (72a).
(a) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(b) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(c) Remove and discard the washer (1) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(d) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-81-020 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(e) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-81-090 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(f) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod (72a).
(g) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod (72a) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 309.3 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (12.1772 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(h) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod (72a).
(i) Make sure that the rod-end (2) is in line with the fork end.
(j) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(k) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the support rod (72a).
(l) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).
(m) Move the heat shrink tubing into position over the inspection hole (4) and the nut (3).
(n) Use an applicable GUN - HOT AIR and shrink the tubing until it is tight.
D. Replacement of a Rod-End in Support Rod 83 (Heat Exchanger Unit and Air Conditioning Pack)
(1) For the fixed rod-end:
(a) Loosen the nut (3) and remove the rod-end (2) together with the locking device (7) and the nut (3).
(b) Discard the tube assembly (6).
(c) Remove and discard the locking device (7).
(d) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-070 LOCKING DEVICE (7) in position on the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the rod-end (2) together with the nut (3) and locking device (7) in position in the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-090 TUBE ASSY (6).
(f) Adjust the rod-end (2) until you get the reference dimension 'B'.
Reference dimension 'B' = 214.8 mm (8.4567 in.).
(h) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are at 90 degrees to each other.
(i) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(j) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the tube assembly (6).
(2) For the rod-end (2):
(a) Loosen the nut (3) and remove the rod-end (2) together with the locking device (7) and the nut (3).
(b) Remove and discard the locking device (7) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(c) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(d) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-070 LOCKING DEVICE (7) in position on the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the tube assembly (6) and adjust it until you get the reference dimension 'B'.
Reference dimension 'B' = 214.8 mm (8.4567 in.).
(g) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are at 90 degrees to each other.
(h) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(i) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the tube assembly (6).
(3) For both the fixed rod-end and the adjustable rod-end (2):
(a) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the locking device (7) and the nut (3).
(b) Remove and discard the locking device (7) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(c) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(d) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-070 LOCKING DEVICE (7) in position on the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the tube assembly (6) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 214.8 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (8.4567 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(f) Tighten the nut (3) with your fingers against the locking device (7) and the tube assembly (6).
(g) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are at 90 degrees to each other.
(h) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(i) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the tube assembly (6).
Subtask 21-52-00-350-053-A (1) For the fixed rod-end:
(a) Loosen the nut (3) and remove the rod-end (2) together with the locking device (7) and the nut (3).
(b) Discard the tube assembly (6).
(c) Remove and discard the locking device (7).
(d) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-070 LOCKING DEVICE (7) in position on the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the rod-end (2) together with the nut (3) and locking device (7) in position in the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-090 TUBE ASSY (6).
(f) Adjust the rod-end (2) until you get the reference dimension 'B'.
Reference dimension 'B' = 214.8 mm (8.4567 in.).
NOTE: This support rod is used to adjust the air pack position.
In this adjustment procedure the reference dimension can be changed.
(g) Tighten the nut (3) with your fingers against the locking device (7) and the tube assembly (6). In this adjustment procedure the reference dimension can be changed.
(h) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are at 90 degrees to each other.
(i) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(j) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the tube assembly (6).
(2) For the rod-end (2):
(a) Loosen the nut (3) and remove the rod-end (2) together with the locking device (7) and the nut (3).
(b) Remove and discard the locking device (7) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(c) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(d) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-070 LOCKING DEVICE (7) in position on the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the tube assembly (6) and adjust it until you get the reference dimension 'B'.
Reference dimension 'B' = 214.8 mm (8.4567 in.).
NOTE: This support rod is used to adjust the air pack position.
In this adjustment procedure the reference dimension can be changed.
(f) Tighten the nut (3) with your fingers against the locking device (7) and the tube assembly (6). In this adjustment procedure the reference dimension can be changed.
(g) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are at 90 degrees to each other.
(h) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(i) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the tube assembly (6).
(3) For both the fixed rod-end and the adjustable rod-end (2):
(a) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the locking device (7) and the nut (3).
(b) Remove and discard the locking device (7) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(c) Put the nut (3) in position on the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-030 ROD END (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(d) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-070 LOCKING DEVICE (7) in position on the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the tube assembly (6) and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
Dimension 'B' = 214.8 +0.2 mm or -0.2 mm (8.4567 +0.0079 in. or -0.0079 in.).
(f) Tighten the nut (3) with your fingers against the locking device (7) and the tube assembly (6).
(g) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are at 90 degrees to each other.
(h) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(i) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the tube assembly (6).
E. Replacement of a Rod-End in the Support Rods (71), (73), (74), (75), (77), (78), (79), (80), (81) and (82)
(1) For the fixed rod-end:
(a) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the applicable support rod.
(b) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(c) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(d) Discard the tube assembly (6).
(e) Remove and discard the washer (1).
(f) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-060 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(g) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the tube assembly (6):

(o) Use an applicable GUN - HOT AIR and shrink the tubing until it is tight.
(2) For the rod-end (2):
(a) Remove the heat shrink protective cover from the applicable support rod.
(b) Bend back the lock tabs on the washer (1) and loosen the nut (3).
(c) Remove the rod-end (2) together with the washer (1) and the nut (3).
(d) Remove and discard the washer (1) and remove the nut (3) from the rod-end (2).
(e) Put the nut (3) in position on the new rod-end (2) and turn the nut (3) until it stops.
(f) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-85-060 WASHER (1) in position on the rod-end (2).
(g) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod.
(h) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
(i) Refer to Para. E. (1) (i) 1_, 2_, 3_, 4_, 5_, 6_, 7_, 8_ and 9_.
(j) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod.
(k) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are in line with each other.
(l) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(m) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the applicable support rod.
(n) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).

(g) Put a piece of SLEEVE - SHRINKING on the body of the support rod.
(h) Put the rod-end (2) in position in the support rod and adjust it until you get the dimension 'B'.
(i) Refer to Para. E. (1) (i) 1_, 2_, 3_, 4_, 5_, 6_, 7_, 8_ and 9_.
(j) Tighten the nut (3) against the washer (1) and the support rod.
(k) Make sure that the rod-end (2) and the fixed rod-end are in line with each other.
(l) Make sure that there is no damage to the rod-end (2).
(m) Make sure that a probe of diameter 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.) should not go through the inspection hole (4) in the applicable support rod.
(n) Bend back the tabs of the washer (1) against the nut (3).
(o) Move the heat shrink tubing into position over the inspection hole (4) and the nut (3).

F. Replacement of the Rod-End of the Support Rod
(1) For the adjustable rod-end of the support rod:
(b) Bend back the lock tab on the locking device (6) and loosen the nut (7).
(c) Remove the fork (8) or (9) together with the locking device (6) and the nut (7).
(d) Remove and discard the locking device (6).
(e) Remove the nut (7) from the fork (8) or (9).
(f) Put the nut (7) in position on a new fork (8) or (9):
(h) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-80-040 LKGDVC (6) on the fork (8) or (9).
(i) Put the fork (8) or (9) in position in the tube assembly (1) or (2) and adjust it until you get the correct dimension:
1 For the support rod (C), refer to dimension A = 474.5 mm (18.6811 in.).
2 For the support rod (E), refer to dimension B = 415.7 mm (16.3662 in.).
(j) Tighten the nut (7) against the locking device (6) and the tube assembly (1) or (2).
(k) Make sure that the fork (8) or (9) and the tube assembly (1) or (2) are aligned with each other.
(l) Bend back the lock tab of the locking device (6) against the nut (7).
(2) For the fixed rod-end of the support rod:
(b) Bend back the lock tab on the locking device (6) and loosen the nut (7).
(c) Remove the fork (8) or (9) together with the locking device (6) and the nut (7).
(d) Remove and discard the locking device (6).
(e) Bend back the lock tab on the locking device (3).
(f) Loosen the sleeve (5).
(g) Remove the sleeve (5), the nut (4) and the locking device (3).
(h) Remove and discard the locking device (3).
(i) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-80-040 LKGDVC (3), the nut (4) and the sleeve (5) on a new tube assembly (1) or (2):
(k) Tighten the nut (4) against the locking device (3) and the tube assembly (1) or (2).
(l) Put the nut (7) in position on the fork (8) or (9) turn the nut (7) until it stops.
(m) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-80-040 LKGDVC (6) on the fork (8) or (9).
(n) Put the fork (8) or (9) in position in the tube assembly (1) or (2) and adjust it until you get the correct dimension:
1 For the support rod (C), refer to dimension A = 474.5 mm (18.6811 in.).
2 For the support rod (E), refer to dimension B = 415.7 mm (16.3662 in.).
(o) Tighten the nut (7) against the locking device (6) and the tube assembly (1) or (2).

(r) Bend back the lock tab of the locking device (6) against the nut (7).

(h) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-80-040 LKGDVC (6) on the fork (8) or (9).
(i) Put the fork (8) or (9) in position in the tube assembly (1) or (2) and adjust it until you get the correct dimension:
1 For the support rod (C), refer to dimension A = 474.5 mm (18.6811 in.).
2 For the support rod (E), refer to dimension B = 415.7 mm (16.3662 in.).
(j) Tighten the nut (7) against the locking device (6) and the tube assembly (1) or (2).

(e) Bend back the lock tab on the locking device (3).
(f) Loosen the sleeve (5).
(g) Remove the sleeve (5), the nut (4) and the locking device (3).
(h) Remove and discard the locking device (3).
(i) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-80-040 LKGDVC (3), the nut (4) and the sleeve (5) on a new tube assembly (1) or (2):
- For support rod (C): AIPC 21-52-03-80-090 TUBE (1)
- For support rod (E): AIPC 21-52-03-80-080 TUBE (2).
(k) Tighten the nut (4) against the locking device (3) and the tube assembly (1) or (2).
(l) Put the nut (7) in position on the fork (8) or (9) turn the nut (7) until it stops.
(m) Put the new AIPC 21-52-03-80-040 LKGDVC (6) on the fork (8) or (9).
(n) Put the fork (8) or (9) in position in the tube assembly (1) or (2) and adjust it until you get the correct dimension:
1 For the support rod (C), refer to dimension A = 474.5 mm (18.6811 in.).
2 For the support rod (E), refer to dimension B = 415.7 mm (16.3662 in.).
(o) Tighten the nut (7) against the locking device (6) and the tube assembly (1) or (2).
