WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT AIR IS NOT SUPPLIED TO THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FROM THE MAIN ENGINE, THE APU OR A GROUND SOURCE.
HOT COMPRESSED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
NOTE: The procedure is the same for the duct temperature sensors 3HC, 4HC and/or 13HC and the compartment temperature sensor 14HC.

E. Safety Precautions
(1) On the panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the APU BLEED and the ENG BLEED/1(2) pushbutton switches are released.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to operate these pushbutton switches.
(2) On the HP and the LP ground connectors:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to supply the ground air.
Subtask 21-43-00-010-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the APU BLEED and the ENG BLEED/1(2) pushbutton switches are released.
(b) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to operate these pushbutton switches.
(2) On the HP and the LP ground connectors:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to supply the ground air.
F. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the Fwd cargo-compartment door 825.
(2) Open the Fwd cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Remove the access panel(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003):
(a) FOR [3HC] (FWD CARGO DUCT SENSOR)
(4) Remove the duct temperature sensor 3HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-14-000-002).
(5) Remove the duct temperature sensor 4HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-14-000-003).
Subtask 21-43-00-010-060-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the Fwd cargo-compartment door 825.
(2) Open the Fwd cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Remove the access panel(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-003):
(a) FOR [3HC] (FWD CARGO DUCT SENSOR)
- 132KW and/or
(4) Remove the duct temperature sensor 3HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-14-000-002).
(5) Remove the duct temperature sensor 4HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-14-000-003).
F. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the Aft cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Open the Aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003):
(a) FOR [13HC] (AFT CARGO DUCT SENSOR)
(4) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002):
(a) FOR [14HC] (AFT CARGO COMP SENSOR)
(5) Remove the duct temperature sensor(s) 13HC and/or 14HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-15-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the Aft cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Open the Aft cargo-compartment door 826 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-003):
(a) FOR [13HC] (AFT CARGO DUCT SENSOR)
(4) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002):
(a) FOR [14HC] (AFT CARGO COMP SENSOR)
(5) Remove the duct temperature sensor(s) 13HC and/or 14HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-15-000-001).
Subtask 21-43-00-100-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Cleaning of the Duct Temperature Sensor
(2) Carefully remove any foreign matter from between the connector pins and from around the thermistor beads using a BRUSH - NON METALLIC, SOFT moistened with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
Subtask 21-43-00-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
(1) Remove any moisture, condensation or dust from the duct temperature sensor with a clean dry Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) . (2) Carefully remove any foreign matter from between the connector pins and from around the thermistor beads using a BRUSH - NON METALLIC, SOFT moistened with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
B. Installation of the Duct Temperature Sensor
(2) Install the duct temperature sensor 4HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-14-400-003).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
Subtask 21-43-00-100-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: Do not install the access panels at this time.
(1) Install the duct temperature sensor 3HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-14-400-002). (2) Install the duct temperature sensor 4HC (Ref. AMM TASK 21-43-14-400-003).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
C. Cleaning of the Duct Temperature Sensor
(2) Carefully remove any foreign matter from the holes in the body of the sensor using a BRUSH - NON METALLIC, SOFT moistened with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
Subtask 21-43-00-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
