Inspection/Check of the Skin Heat Exchanger (the Inlet Ducts and the Extraction Duct)
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON OR NEAR THE AIR-CONDITIONING DUCTS. THE DUCTS ARE MADE OF THIN MATERIAL AND YOU CAN EASILY BREAK THEM.
1. Reason for the JobTo examine the condition of the area around the drain holes in the skin heat exchanger.

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the access door 822.
(2) Open the access door 822 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).

(2) Open the access door 822 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
D. Removal of the Components before the Inspection/Check
(1) Remove the inlet ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-804).
(2) Remove the extraction duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-002).
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) (a) Remove the cable ties (7) and discard them.
(b) Disconnect the drain hoses (8) from the drain holes (6) of the skin heat exchanger.
4. Procedure(1) Remove the inlet ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-804).
(2) Remove the extraction duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-000-002).
(3) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(4) (a) Remove the cable ties (7) and discard them.
(b) Disconnect the drain hoses (8) from the drain holes (6) of the skin heat exchanger.

Subtask 21-26-42-210-051-A C. Inspection/Check of the Inlet Ducts and the Drain Holes of the Skin Heat Exchanger
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Carefully examine the internal structure of the skin heat exchanger, specially the area around the drain holes (6):
(a) Make sure that there are no corrosion, cracks, blocked drain holes (6) and unwanted materials.
(3) On the mating surfaces of the skin heat exchanger and the inlet ducts (2) and (4):
(a) Make sure that the seals (1) and (3) and the related bonding compounds are removed from the skin heat exchanger.
(b) If necessary, use the SCRAPER - PLASTIC and remove the seals (1) and (3).
(4) Clean the mating surfaces of the skin heat exchanger and the inlet ducts (2) and (4) with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Naphta based and Alcohol - (Material No.08BBC1) .
(5) Make sure that the mating surfaces have no corrosion, cracks, dents and other damage.
(6) Make sure that the honeycomb grids are in the correct position in the inlet ducts (2) and (4).
(7) Make sure that the honeycomb grids of the inlet ducts (2) and (4) are not clogged.
(8) If the honeycomb grids of the inlet ducts (2) and (4) are clogged, remove contamination and the clogging from the honeycomb grids (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-200-802).
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-26-42-210-067-A (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Carefully examine the internal structure of the skin heat exchanger, specially the area around the drain holes (6):
(a) Make sure that there are no corrosion, cracks, blocked drain holes (6) and unwanted materials.
(3) On the mating surfaces of the skin heat exchanger and the inlet ducts (2) and (4):

(7) Make sure that the honeycomb grids of the inlet ducts (2) and (4) are not clogged.
(8) If the honeycomb grids of the inlet ducts (2) and (4) are clogged, remove contamination and the clogging from the honeycomb grids (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-200-802).
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
D. Inspection of the Extraction Duct
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Carefully examine the extraction duct (5).
(3) Make sure that the extraction duct (5) and the adjacent area has no corrosion, cracks, dents and other damage.
(4) Make sure that the honeycomb grids are in the correct position in the extraction duct (5).
(5) Make sure that the honeycomb grids of the extraction duct (5) are not clogged.
(6) If the honeycomb grids of the extraction duct (5) are clogged, remove contamination and the clogging from the honeycomb grids (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-200-802).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
5. Close-up(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Carefully examine the extraction duct (5).
(3) Make sure that the extraction duct (5) and the adjacent area has no corrosion, cracks, dents and other damage.
(4) Make sure that the honeycomb grids are in the correct position in the extraction duct (5).
(5) Make sure that the honeycomb grids of the extraction duct (5) are not clogged.
(6) If the honeycomb grids of the extraction duct (5) are clogged, remove contamination and the clogging from the honeycomb grids (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-200-802).
(7) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 21-26-42-420-065-A
A. Installation of the Components after the Inspection/Check
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the inlet ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-400-804).
(3) Install the extraction duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-400-002).
(4) (a) Connect the drain hoses (8) to the drain holes (6) of the skin heat exchanger.
(b) Install the new AIPC 53-19-81-02-610 TIE (7) or AIPC 53-19-81-02-250 TIE (7) on the drain hoses (8).
Subtask 21-26-42-420-052-B (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the inlet ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-400-804).
(3) Install the extraction duct (Ref. AMM TASK 21-26-42-400-002).
(4) (a) Connect the drain hoses (8) to the drain holes (6) of the skin heat exchanger.
(b) Install the new AIPC 53-19-81-02-610 TIE (7) or AIPC 53-19-81-02-250 TIE (7) on the drain hoses (8).
