A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key. Make sure that the HYD page comes into view on the ECAM lower DU.
(5) Make sure that the ECAM does not show the warnings that follow:
(7) If necessary, add fluid to the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
Subtask 12-36-29-941-073-A (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits

(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(3) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key. Make sure that the HYD page comes into view on the ECAM lower DU.
(5) Make sure that the ECAM does not show the warnings that follow:
- Low air pressure in the Green hydraulic reservoirs
- Low fluid level in the Green hydraulic reservoirs.
(7) If necessary, add fluid to the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
B. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIER(S), refer to the operator's instructions and to your local regulations.
Subtask 12-36-29-010-110-A WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WORK ON THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS CAN BE DANGEROUS.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures when you do work on the hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIER(S), refer to the operator's instructions and to your local regulations.
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(2) Open access door 197CB of the Green ground-service panel.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(2) Open access door 197CB of the Green ground-service panel.

A. Cleaning of the Hydraulic Fluid in the Green Hydraulic System with the Water Separation System (WSS4)
(2) Make sure that no hydraulic consumer operates.
(3) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the delivery self-sealing ground connector (2) and from the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(4) Connect the suction hose (5) to the adaptor (4).
(5) Install the adaptor (4) on the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(6) Install the adaptor (8) on the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM.
(7) Connect the suction hose (6) to the adaptor (8).
(8) Connect the delivery hose (7) to the Green Ground Service Panel (GSP) (1) delivery self-sealing ground connector (2).
(9) Do a sampling of the hydraulic fluid for analysis (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-29-281-802).
(10) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
(11) Set the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM to ON.
(12) Operate the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM until the water content indicator shows a water content less than or equal to 0.4 percent (4000 PPM).
(13) In the cockpit, operate the flight controls at half-hour intervals:
(a) On panel 11VU, move the GND SPLRS ARMED lever to the FULL position then to the RET position. Do this step 3 times.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(15) Set the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM to OFF.
(16) Do a sampling of the hydraulic fluid for analysis (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-29-281-001).
(17) Stop the cleaning procedure when the water content is in the limits.
(18) Disconnect the suction hose (5) and the adaptor (4) from the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(19) Disconnect the suction hose (5) from the adaptor (4).
(20) Disconnect the suction hose (6) from the adaptor (8).
(21) Disconnect the delivery hose (7) from the Green GSP (1) delivery self-sealing ground connector (2).
(22) Remove the adaptor (8) from the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM.
(23) Install the CAP - BLANKING on the delivery self-sealing ground connector (2) and on the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(24) In the period of the next three flights, do an analysis of the hydraulic-fluid particle contamination.
(a) Make sure that the contamination is not more than class 9.
5. Close-upWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR ARE CLEAR.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLOW RATE AND THE SUPPLY PRESSURE ON THE GROUND HYDRAULIC CART ARE SET TO A MINIMUM.
(1) Obey the manufacturer's instructions for the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM. (2) Make sure that no hydraulic consumer operates.
(3) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the delivery self-sealing ground connector (2) and from the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(4) Connect the suction hose (5) to the adaptor (4).
(5) Install the adaptor (4) on the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(6) Install the adaptor (8) on the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM.
(7) Connect the suction hose (6) to the adaptor (8).
(8) Connect the delivery hose (7) to the Green Ground Service Panel (GSP) (1) delivery self-sealing ground connector (2).
(9) Do a sampling of the hydraulic fluid for analysis (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-29-281-802).
(10) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).
(11) Set the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM to ON.
(12) Operate the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM until the water content indicator shows a water content less than or equal to 0.4 percent (4000 PPM).
(13) In the cockpit, operate the flight controls at half-hour intervals:
(a) On panel 11VU, move the GND SPLRS ARMED lever to the FULL position then to the RET position. Do this step 3 times.
NOTE: The spoilers 1 and 5 left and right operate.
(b) On panel 18VU or 19VU, move the side stick fully to the left then fully to the right. Do this step 3 times. NOTE: The ailerons and spoilers 5 left and right operate.
(c) On panel 18VU or 19VU, move the side stick fully forward then fully rearward. Do this step 3 times. NOTE: The left elevator operates.
(d) At the captain or first officer position, push the left pedal fully forward and the right pedal fully forward. Do this step 3 times. NOTE: The rudder operates.
(e) On panel 114VU, move the flap/slat lever to the FULL position then to the 0 deg. position. Do this step 2 times. NOTE: The flaps and slats operate.
(14) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
(15) Set the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM to OFF.
(16) Do a sampling of the hydraulic fluid for analysis (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-29-281-001).
(17) Stop the cleaning procedure when the water content is in the limits.
(18) Disconnect the suction hose (5) and the adaptor (4) from the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(19) Disconnect the suction hose (5) from the adaptor (4).
(20) Disconnect the suction hose (6) from the adaptor (8).
(21) Disconnect the delivery hose (7) from the Green GSP (1) delivery self-sealing ground connector (2).
(22) Remove the adaptor (8) from the WSS4 WATER SEPARATION SYSTEM.
(23) Install the CAP - BLANKING on the delivery self-sealing ground connector (2) and on the suction self-sealing ground connector (3).
(24) In the period of the next three flights, do an analysis of the hydraulic-fluid particle contamination.
(a) Make sure that the contamination is not more than class 9.
Subtask 12-36-29-860-160-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key. Make sure that the HYD page comes into view on the ECAM lower DU.
(2) Make sure that the ECAM does not show the warnings that follow:
(4) If necessary, add fluid to the Green hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
Subtask 12-36-29-410-097-A (1) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key. Make sure that the HYD page comes into view on the ECAM lower DU.
(2) Make sure that the ECAM does not show the warnings that follow:
- Low air pressure in the Green hydraulic reservoirs
- Low fluid level in the Green hydraulic reservoirs.
(4) If necessary, add fluid to the Green hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
B. Close Access
(1) Close access door 197CB.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Collect a fluid sample between one to five flight cycles after fluid cleaning and send it for analysis (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-29-281-802). You can release the aircraft back to service for 14 days, until you get the test results.
Subtask 12-36-29-942-103-A (1) Close access door 197CB.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Collect a fluid sample between one to five flight cycles after fluid cleaning and send it for analysis (Ref. AMM TASK 12-32-29-281-802). You can release the aircraft back to service for 14 days, until you get the test results.
C. Removal of the Safety Barrier
(1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
