Cold Weather Conditions - Put the Oxygen System in Safe Conditions
WARNING:
DO NOT FILL OR REPLACE A CREW OXYGEN CYLINDER OR REPLACE A VALVE ASSEMBLY ON THE CREW OXYGEN SYSTEM WHEN YOU FUEL OR DEFUEL THE AIRCRAFT.
KEEP ALL HYDROCARBONS (FUELS, LUBRICANTS, ETC.) AWAY FROM ALL SOURCES OF OXYGEN. OXYGEN BECOMES EXPLOSIVE WHEN IT TOUCHES HYDROCARBONS.
WARNING:
CLEAN THE TOOLS AND MAKE SURE YOUR HANDS ARE CLEAN TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE OXYGEN SYSTEM.

D. Procedure to Close the Manual Shutoff Valve(s) of the Crew Oxygen-Storage Cylinder(s) when the Outside Air Temperature (OAT) is Less than or Equal to -15 deg.C (5.00 deg.F).
(1) Close the manual shutoff valve of the crew oxygen-storage cylinder (5750HM).
(2) Bleed the oxygen system:
(a) For MF10/MF20 oxygen masks:
1 In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU, push the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend goes off).
2 On one oxygen-mask stowage box, push the PRESS TO TEST AND RESET control lever.
At the same time, push the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob on the mask regulator.
Keep the control lever and the knob pushed for a minimum time of three seconds.
4 In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU, release the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend comes ON).
5 In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to push the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch.
(b) For 174690 oxygen masks:
1 In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU, push the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend goes off).
2 On the mask regulator, turn the NORM/100%/EMER knob to the EMER position.
At the same time, push the TEST/RESET knob on the stowage box.
Keep the TEST/RESET knob pushed for a minimum time of three seconds.
5 In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU, put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to push the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch.
Subtask 12-31-35-660-057-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Close the manual shutoff valve of the crew oxygen-storage cylinder (5750HM).
NOTE: During this time, the flow rate indicator changes from yellow to black and the volume of the sound of the oxygen flow rate decreases. When the flow rate indicator is black and when you can no longer hear the sound of the oxygen flow rate, release the control lever and the knob.
3 Make sure that the PRESS TO TEST/EMERGENCY knob is not in the EMERGENCY position. If it is in the EMERGENCY position, there can be a leak of oxygen. 4 In the cockpit, on the OXYGEN section of overhead panel 21VU, release the CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch (the OFF legend comes ON).
