TASK 12-31-10-910-001-A
Seasonal Preparation

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
1. Reason for the Job
This procedure gives additional maintenance and aircraft protection recommendations for seasonal preparation, with Outside Air Temperature (OAT) from -40 DEG.C (40 DEG.F) to -46 DEG.C (-50.8 DEG.F).

Subtask 12-31-10-620-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Seasonal Preparation
   (1) Flight controls
     (a) Do the lubrication of the flaps and the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 12-31-27-660-001).
   (2) Water/waste
     (a) Clean the service panels and make sure that there are no leaks.
     (b) Do the protection of the doors and panels with a coating of protective compound Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) on all surfaces.
   (3) Doors
     (a) Do the door winter preparation (Ref. AMM TASK 12-31-52-660-001).
   (4) Structure
     (a) Clean all the lower-fuselage drain valves and make sure that they operate correctly (Ref. AMM TASK 12-31-51-660-001).
   (5) Hydraulic systems
     (a) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are filled with low-density hydraulic fluid (Ref. AMM D/O 12-12-00-00).
     (b) Add hydraulic fluid in the reservoirs to make sure that there is sufficient fluid because fluid volume decreases with low temperature.
1 Calculate the quantity of fluid that you must add to each reservoir:

V = Quantity of fluid in litres that you must add.
T1 = Ambient temperature in degrees celsius.
T2 = Ambient temperature of the destination airport or the minimum temperature
in cold weather conditions in degrees celsius.
Green reservoir: V = (T1 - T2) x 0.085
Yellow reservoir: V = (T1 - T2) x 0.064
Blue reservoir: V = (T1 - T2) x 0.051
