TASK 12-21-12-670-803-A
Disinfection with Self-Sanitizing Aircraft-Interior Polish (Airdal) on Hard Surfaces in the Passenger Cabin

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: ALWAYS USE A NEW CLEAN CLOTH TO POLISH THE SURFACES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, THE DISINFECTION OF THE SURFACES WILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO ABRASIVE MATERIAL ON THE SURFACE. ABRASIVE MATERIALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE.
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY AIRDAL ON SCREENS AND TOUCHSCREENS. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
NOTE: There are alternative procedures to disinfect surfaces in the passenger cabin. For the other procedures, refer to the related task in this page block.
NOTE: You can apply Airdal to these areas and equipment in the cabin: tables, armrests, keyboards, handles, overhead storage compartments, panels and linings, lavatories, galleys, social areas and self-service bars.

B. Preparation for the Aircraft-Interior Polish Application
   (1) Measure and record the cabin ambient temperature with a THERMOMETER.
   (2) Make sure that the cabin ambient temperature is 23°C (73,4°F) or more.
   (3) If the cabin ambient temperature is less than 23°C (73,4 °F):
     (a) Increase the temperature in the cabin area to 23°C (73,4°F) or more with an external heat-distribution system.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the operator to get the correct external heat-distribution system for this task.
   (4) Make sure that the cabin ambient temperature stays at 23°C (73,4°F) or more.
4. Procedure
Subtask 12-21-12-670-052-A
A. Disinfection with Self-Sanitizing Aircraft-Interior Polish (Airdal) on Hard Surfaces (Non-Absorbing) in the Passenger Cabin
NOTE: With AIRDAL Cleaner and Primer you clean and prepare the surfaces at the same time. Thus it is not necessary to clean the surfaces before you apply a layer of AIRDAL Cleaner and Primer.
   (1) If you use wet wipes:
     (a) Put on GLOVES-EN374 TYPE B.
     (b) Apply a layer of AIRDAL Cleaner and Primer Self-Sanitizing-Aircraft interior Polish - (Material No.11LAD1) to the surfaces. Make sure that you apply the layer fully to the surfaces.
     (c) Immediately polish the surfaces with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) until they are fully dry and there are no smears.
     (d) Apply a layer of AIRDAL Coating Self-Sanitizing-Aircraft interior Polish - (Material No.11LAD1) to the surfaces. Make sure that you apply the layer fully to the surfaces.
CAUTION: ALWAYS USE A NEW CLEAN CLOTH TO POLISH THE SURFACES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, THE DISINFECTION OF THE SURFACES WILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT.
     (e) Immediately polish the surfaces again with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) until they are fully dry and there are no smears.
     (f) Let the disinfected surfaces dry for 6 hours at a cabin ambient temperature of minimum 23°C (73,4°F).
   (2) If you spray the disinfectant:
     (a) Put on GLOVES-EN374 TYPE B. For overhead spraying work, use SAFETY GOGGLES EN166 TYPE and a MASK FFP3 TYPE.
     (b) Apply a layer of AIRDAL Cleaner and Primer Self-Sanitizing-Aircraft interior Polish - (Material No.11LAD1) to the surfaces with the hand sprayer. Make sure that you apply the layer fully to the surfaces.
     (c) Immediately polish the surfaces with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) until they are fully dry and there are no smears.
