A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 12-13-79-010-076-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Open the oil servicing access-door:

4. Procedure(1) Open the oil servicing access-door:

WARNING:
DO NOT REMOVE THE FILLER CAP OF THE OIL TANK IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGINE OPERATION. LET THE OIL PRESSURE DECREASE FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. IF YOU OPEN THE FILLER CAP WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE TANK, THE OIL CAN BURN YOU DANGEROUSLY.
WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE OIL TANK SCUPPER IS CLEAN TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE TANK DURING THE SERVICING OPERATIONS.
Subtask 12-13-79-281-050-A A. Sampling of the Oil for Analysis
(1) Clean the oil cap (1) with the lint-free cloth (Material No.CP2674) .
(2) Opening of the oil tank filler cap (2).
(a) Lift the oil tank filler cap handle (3) to the vertical (unlocked) position.
(b) Open the oil tank filler cap (2).
(3) Use of a plastic bottle for sampling
(6) Closing of the oil tank filler cap (2)
(a) Inspect the filler cap packing (5) of the oil tank filler cap (2) to make sure that it is in good condition or does not show signs of leakage. If not, replace the filler cap packing (5) as follows:
1 Remove and discard the filler cap packing (5) from the groove of the filler cap (2).
2 Lubricate the new EIPC 79-11-05-15-060 PACKING (5) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
3 Install the new filler cap packing (5) in the groove of the oil tank filler cap (2).
(b) Close the oil tank filler cap (2).
(c) Push the oil tank filler cap handle (3) down flat into the locked position.
(d) Make sure that the oil tank filler cap (2) is tightly closed and locked.
(7) Do a check for oil leakage from the oil tank filler cap (2).
(a) No leaks are permitted.
5. Close-up(1) Clean the oil cap (1) with the lint-free cloth (Material No.CP2674) .
(2) Opening of the oil tank filler cap (2).
(a) Lift the oil tank filler cap handle (3) to the vertical (unlocked) position.
(b) Open the oil tank filler cap (2).
(3) Use of a plastic bottle for sampling
CAUTION:
USE A NEW AND VERY CLEAN PLASTIC BOTTLE WITH A NEW SCREW TOP AND A NEW PLASTIC TUBE. DO NOT USE THESE ITEMS AGAIN.
(a) Squeeze the BOTTLE - PLASTIC (4) and then dip the tube end in the oil to get a sample. NOTE: The maximum diameter of the fill port inlet screen (6) for the passage of the tube of the plastic bottle (4) is 0.4 in. (10 mm).
(4) Tag the BOTTLE - PLASTIC (4) with oil sample data as follows: NOTE: Samples for the chemical and/or the spectrometric analysis must be sent to the laboratory as soon as possible.
- Engine total operating time
- Operating time since the last sample
- The date of the sample
- Identification of the engine (serial number)
- Type and the brand of oil used.
(6) Closing of the oil tank filler cap (2)
(a) Inspect the filler cap packing (5) of the oil tank filler cap (2) to make sure that it is in good condition or does not show signs of leakage. If not, replace the filler cap packing (5) as follows:
1 Remove and discard the filler cap packing (5) from the groove of the filler cap (2).
2 Lubricate the new EIPC 79-11-05-15-060 PACKING (5) with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
3 Install the new filler cap packing (5) in the groove of the oil tank filler cap (2).
(b) Close the oil tank filler cap (2).
(c) Push the oil tank filler cap handle (3) down flat into the locked position.
(d) Make sure that the oil tank filler cap (2) is tightly closed and locked.
(7) Do a check for oil leakage from the oil tank filler cap (2).
(a) No leaks are permitted.
NOTE: A wet surface which is not sufficient to make one drop is permitted.
