A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to the operate the flap/slat control lever.
   (2) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
   (3) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position adjacent to the applicable pylon (zones 410 and 420).
4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Safety Harness
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK AT HEIGHT, MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY ROPE LENGTH IS SUFFICIENT TO GET ACCESS TO THE WORK AREA. MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY ROPE IS NOT TOO LONG. IF IT IS TOO LONG, A FALL CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY AND/OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) A NORCO type fitting (3) is installed at RIB5, on each pylon:
  • For the left pylon, on access panel 413BT.
  • For the right pylon, on access panel 423BT.
   (2) Make sure that the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY (1) is serviceable.
   (3) Install the IL3412-1 ANCHOR - SAFETY (4) on the NORCO type fitting (3).
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ONLY ONE PERSON IS ATTACHED TO THE ANCHOR POINT. IF MORE THAN ONE PERSON IS ATTACHED TO THE ANCHOR POINT, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE SAFETY ANCHOR WILL NOT SUPPORT THEIR WEIGHT IF THEY FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
   (4) Only one person can be attached with this IL3412-1 ANCHOR - SAFETY (4).
   (5) Put on and attach the 98L12003001000 HARNESS,SAFETY (1) to the IL3412-1 ANCHOR - SAFETY (4).
   (6) Make sure that the IL3412-1 ANCHOR - SAFETY (4) and the snap hook (5) of the safety rope (2) are correctly locked.

A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the IL3412-1 ANCHOR - SAFETY (4) from the NORCO type fitting (3).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration
   (1) Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser after ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
