1. General
The cowls enclose the periphery of the engine so as to form the engine nacelle.
The nacelle provides:

The nacelle provides:
- protection for the engine and the accessories,
- ensures airflow around the engine during its operation,
- lightening protection,
- Hirf and EMI attenuation.
- air intake cowl,
- fan cowl,
- the fan thrust reversers and the primary exhaust are covered in 78-00-00.
NOTE: Fan cowls and fan thrust reversers are not removed for an engine change.
