1. General
The door warning system tells the crew if the doors are locked or unlocked.
Proximity switches with a built-in electronic system are used on the passenger/crew doors, the avionics compartment doors and the emergency exit doors.
But on the cargo compartment doors, because of environmental conditions (pollution, no pressurization), proximity switches with a different electronic system are used. These switches send signals to LGCIU1.
Proximity switches with a built-in electronic system are also used on:

All the data related to the passenger/crew doors, the emergency exit doors, the avionics and cargo compartment doors and the escape slide arming are sent to the ECAM system through proximity switches. LGCIU1 processes the data related to the cargo compartment doors and sends these data to the FWC with the ARINC 429 busbar.
For the passenger/crew doors, the emergency exit doors and the avionics compartment doors, the discrete data are sent to the System Data Acquisition Concentrators (SDAC). When a passenger/crew door, an emergency exit door or an avionics compartment door is open, the target is separated from the proximity switch. This blocks the output transistor of the proximity switch which sends logic 1 to the SDAC. The passenger/crew doors are shown closed if the locking hook is in the correct position and the locking shaft correctly overcentered (the two data are in series). The cargo compartment doors are shown closed if the locking hook and the handle are in the correct position (logic AND of the two data performed by the FWC). A single detection system is used for the avionics compartment doors and the emergency exit doors (the locking hook for the avionics compartment doors and the flap for emergency exit doors).
The position of the escape slides is shown as follows:

(1) These proximity switches transmit:
- The position of the passenger/crew doors, the emergency exit doors and the avionics compartment doors
- The status of the escape slide (armed or disarmed).
(2) These proximity switches have two different positions:
The other position transmits the position of a door or the status of an escape slide to the emergency power supply units (WL circuit) to control the lighting of the escape slides.
- The ON position when the target is near the proximity switch.
- The OFF position when the target is away from the proximity switch.
The other position transmits the position of a door or the status of an escape slide to the emergency power supply units (WL circuit) to control the lighting of the escape slides.
(3) They can be supplied with 5.4 to 32VDC and their consumption is less than 7mA. They have their own electronic system, necessary to process the signals.
(4) These proximity switches transmit:
- The position of the passenger/crew doors, emergency exit doors, overwing emergency-exit doors, bulk cargo-compartment doors and avionics compartment doors
- The condition of the escape slide (armed or disarmed).
(5) They have two different positions:
The other output transmits the position of a door or the condition of an escape slide to the EPSU (WL circuit) to control the lighting of the escape slides.
- The ON position when the target is near the proximity switch
- The OFF position when the target is away from the proximity switch.
The other output transmits the position of a door or the condition of an escape slide to the EPSU (WL circuit) to control the lighting of the escape slides.
(6) You can supply them with 5.4 to 32VDC and their energy consumption is less than 7mA. They have their electronic system, necessary to send the signals.
B. Proximity Switches with Different Electronic System
The proximity switches with a different electronic system are: [32WV] [34WV] [28WV] [30WV] .
The proximity switches with a different electronic system are: [32WV] [34WV] [28WV] [30WV] .
- They transmit the position of the cargo compartment doors.
- When the target is near the proximity switch, the phase changes between the supply current and the voltage of the proximity switch coil. LGCIU1 measures this variation and sends the position of the target to the FWCs with the ARINC 429 busbar.
Document ABS0121 gives these proximity switches.
C. FLA
One electrical FLA is installed on each overwing emergency-exit door. The function of the FLA is to lock the door handle movement in non-pressurized or low-pressurized flight phases.
The FLA engages when 28VDC is supplied. It automatically disengages when 28VDC is not supplied.
FLA test panel 72VU is installed in the avionics compartment for the maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

(1) Indication without warning
(a) During flight phases 1 and 10, the "DOOR" page comes automatically into view on the lower ECAM DU.
If a door is closed, its symbol is green.
If a door is open, its symbol and the related message are amber.
When the escape slides are disarmed, no message comes into view. When they are armed, the "SLIDE" message comes into view in white.
No data is shown on the upper DU.
