F Lavatory Installation - Example ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. General Characteristics
The lavatories are attached to the seat rails in the different installation areas at an interval of 1 in. (25.40 mm). A tie-rod attaches the upper attachment point of the lavatory to the aircraft structure. Each lavatory has a single blade door or a bi-folding door (optional) which can be installed on the specified lavatories.
B. Structure
The lavatory is assembled as a modular unit with the ceiling, sidewalls, rearwall and floorpan. The basic structure is made from the sandwich panels. The extrusions are bonded and/or attached to the panels with the screws. The kickstrips and the corner strips are installed to prevent damage to the lavatory.
C. Lavatory Equipment
The different items of equipment are installed in each lavatory which the passengers and the crew can use (Ref. AMM D/O 25-45-00-00).
D. Lavatory Doors
(1) Single Blade Door
A single blade door that opens out is installed on the lavatory unit. The lavatories installed near the exit have the lavatory doors installed to prevent blockage during the evacuation of the passengers. A minimum clearance of 21 in. (0.53 m) is necessary to let the door open with no blockage.
(2) Bi-folding Door
An optional bi-folding door that opens in and closes automatically can be installed in the specified lavatories.
(3) For the instructions related to the door(s), (Ref. AMM D/O 25-45-00-00).
