** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Non-revenue flights are not necessary after maintenance operations on items unless:
- These maintenance operations can have an unwanted effect on the operational characteristics of the aircraft, and
- It is not possible to do correct ground tests of these items after maintenance.
NOTE: The Operators Regulatory Authority can make a non-revenue flight mandatory after some maintenance operations.
NOTE: You can contact Airbus for a recommended check flight.
2. Engine Replacement
After the replacement or reinstallation of the two engines, a non-revenue flight is not necessary if:
After the replacement or reinstallation of the two engines, a non-revenue flight is not necessary if:
- The engines were tested and accepted in an approved test cell or if the engines were already removed for convenience or time staggering.
- The engines are correctly installed.
- The engine ground tests are satisfactory.
- All the applicable maintenance instructions are obeyed.
- Two different teams worked separately, one for the installation of each engine, in relation to the recommendations in the AMM introduction.
NOTE: A non-revenue flight is recommended if one or more of the above conditions are not obeyed.
But Airbus recommends to do a non-revenue flight after you change or install the two engines because of the number of different interfaces. This is to make sure that this operation did not cause faults because of double maintenance. The operator must make the decision to do the non-revenue flight or not. NOTE: If the operator makes the decision to do a non-revenue flight, Airbus can give a check flight procedure as a technical adaptation.
