2. System Description
A. Stage 1 Compressor Rotor Blisk
The stage 1 compressor rotor blisk is a life limited part and is a single component composed of the front shaft, the disk, blades, seal teeth and the rear arm.
B. Stage 2 Compressor Rotor Blisk
The stage 2 compressor rotor blisk is a life limited part and is a single component comprised of the disk and blades.
C. Stage 3-4 Compressor Rotor Blisk
The stage 3-4 compressor rotor blisk is life limited part and is a single component comprised of the stage 3 disk and stage 3 blades plus the stage 4 disk and stage 4 blades.
D. Stage 5 Compressor Rotor Blisk
The stage 5 compressor rotor blisk is a life limited part and is a single component composed of the disk and blades.
E. Stage 6-10 Compressor Rotor Spool
The stage 6-10 compressor rotor spool is a life limited part and is manufactured as one component with circumferential grooves that interface with the 3D-aero blade dovetails to retain the stage 6-10 rotor blades. It is composed of five rotor disks manufactured as one component.
F. HPC Outer Impeller Tubes
The 14 HPC outer impeller tubes extend radially outward-from and perpendicular-to the impeller tube support, a life limited part, to route stage 7 compressor cooling air to the High Pressure Turbine (HPT).
Each HPC outer impeller tube is retained in the impeller tube support.
G. HPC Damper Tubes
The HPC damper tube is installed within the HPC outer impeller tube at the base of the impeller tube support to dampen vibrations of the HPC outer impeller tube.
H. CDP Rotating Air Seal
The CDP air rotating seal is a life limited part and is bolted to the rear arm of the stage 6-10 compressor rotor spool with 36 nut-and-bolt connections. The CDP rotating air seal interfaces with the CDP stationary seal in the combustion section to ensure stage 10 pressurized air is available to the combustor.
I. Stage 6-10 Compressor Rotor Blade Locking Lugs
The rotor blades for each stage are secured with two locking lugs to prevent circumferential movement of the rotor blades such that a loss of one locking lug will not result in rotor blade movement.
** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
3. Operation
The HPC rotor accelerates air axially through the HPC.
