A. Trailing Edge Structure
(1) The panel support frames are made of laminations of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). They are attached to the rudder hinge arms.
(2) The trailing-edge access panels are identified: 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL (left-hand side) and 325BR, 325CR, 325DR, 325ER (right-hand side). The access panels are made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) and Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) laminations on a honeycomb core. The panels are attached to the flanges of the spar-box side shells as follows: access panels 325BL, 325BR, 325CL, 325CR and 325DL with piano hinges and screws; access panels 325DR, 325EL and 325ER with quick-release fasteners. Quick-release fasteners also attach the panels to the rudder hinge arms and to the panel support frames. Access panels 325CL and 325CR are only attached to the rudder hinge arms, panel support frames are not installed for these panels.
(3) The hinged panels have a lever assembly so that you can safety the panels in the open position for maintenance practices.
(4) The panel support frames are made of sheet metal. They are attached to the rudder hinge arms.
(5) The trailing-edge access panels are identified: 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL (left-hand side) and 325BR, 325CR, 325DR, 325ER (right-hand side).
(6) The hinged panels have a lever assembly so that you can safety the panels in the open position for maintenance practices.
(7) The trailing-edge access panels are:
- 325BL, 325CL, 325DL, 325EL (on the left side)
- 325BR, 325CR, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR (on the right side).
(8) There are two types of the trailing-edge access panels:
- Access panels with piano hinges and quick-release fasteners (325BL, 325BR, 325CL, 325CR and 325DL) also refer to as hinged access panels
- Access panels installed only with screws (325EL, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR).
(a) Each of hinged access panels 325BL, 325BR, 325CL, 325CR and 325DL have a lever assembly. With the lever assembly, you can safety these access panels in the open position for maintenance practices.
(9) The trailing-edge access panels are attached as follows:
(a) Access panels 325BL, 325BR and 325DL (hinged access panels) are attached to:
- The flanges of the spar-box side shells with screws (the hinged side)
- The rudder hinge arms and the panel support frames with quick-release fasteners.
(b) Access panels 325CL and 325CR (hinged access panels) are attached to:
- The flanges of the spar-box side shells with screws (the hinged side)
- The rudder hinge arms with quick-release fasteners (the panel support frames are not installed for these panels).
(c) Access panels 325EL, 325ER, 325FR and 325GR are attached with screws to the flanges of the spar-box side shells (vertical side), to the rudder hinge arms and to the panel support frames.
(10) The access panels are made of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) and Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) laminations on a honeycomb core. The panel support frames are made of sheet metal.
