ELEVATOR TIPS AND INBOARD END CAPS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. Description.

A. Inboard End Caps.

The inboard end caps are made from laminations of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) on a honeycomb core. They are attached to the elevator ribs 1. Countersunk screws attach them. Tips, which are made of light alloy, make the trailing edges of the end caps stronger. They are riveted to the end caps.

B. Tips.

The elevator tips are made of light alloy. Ribs of the same material make them stronger. Countersunk screws attach the tips. Each tip has two static dischargers.
