PYLON-TO-WING CENTER FILLETS - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
1. General
The pylon-to-wing center fillets give an aerodynamic contour between the pylon main frame and the wing bottom surface.
The pylon-to-wing center fillets give access to:
  • The pylon-to-wing attach fittings
  • Systems routing.
The pylon-to-wing center fillets have seven access skin panels and doors with their mounting supports.
** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Access Skin Panels and Doors
(1) The forward upper panel, the forward lateral panel and the forward external panel are made of titanium. The other access skin panels and doors are made of composite material.
(2) All these panels and doors (but not the forward lateral panel) have Y-shaped seals which give an air-tight joint between the wing and the access skin panels and doors.
(3) All these panels and doors are attached with countersunk head screws.
(4) All these panels and doors (but not the forward lateral panel) are put in position with two centering pins.
(5) The inner faces of the titanium access skin-panels have Teflon bands on them.
(6) There is a pressure relief door on the overpressure access door to prevent overpressure if there is an air duct failure.
