FORWARD FAIRING - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General
The forward fairing is the secondary structure of the pylon. It makes an aerodynamic joint between the pylon and the engine nacelle.
It contains ducts and components related to the aircraft systems.

A. Forward Fairing
(1) There are eleven access skin panels for the access to:
All the access skin panels are attached with screws.
- The electrical cables
- The fuel and hydraulic pipes
- The pneumatic duct
- The precooler.

(2) The primary structural components of the forward fairing are:
- 7 ribs. RIB00, RIB01, RIB02 and RIB03 are made of stainless steel. The other ribs are made of titanium alloy.
- 4 webs for the separation. These webs are made of titanium alloy.
- 1 visor assembly that is installed on the forward end of the structure.
(3) Two fan-cowl hinge fittings are installed at RIB01 and RIB03. They are made of titanium alloy.
(4) The forward fairing is attached to the pylon box with two forward secondary structure-rods. One end of these rods is installed on the pyramid assembly of the pylon box. The other end is installed at RIB05 on the forward fairing. The bodies of the rods are made of steel.
