FORWARD FAIRING - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. Description
F Forward Fairings ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
The forward fairing is composed of :
  • 9 ribs
  • 2 longitudinal partitions for segregation (bulkhead)
  • A visor supported by spring blades
  • 1 bottom cap
  • Skin
  • Fan cowl hinge fittings made of titanium.
All elements except the hinge fittings are made of stainless steel.
  • Compartment B1 includes 2 pressure relief doors calibrated at 200 mbars to prevent any overpressure in case of an air duct failure.
  • Compartment A includes also one pressure relief valve to prevent any overpressure in case of an air duct failure.
  • Monel rivets are used for attachment
  • In some limited areas spot welding is also used.
  • All the access panels are bolted.
