CENTER FUSELAGE - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
1. General
The aircraft center fuselage contains the wing-to-fuselage interface section and part of the passenger compartment. The area below the passenger compartment is unpressurized.

The aircraft center fuselage extends from FR35 to FR47 and includes:
The aircraft center fuselage extends from FR35 to FR47 and includes:
- the wing center box. This structure extends across the width of the fuselage and is a continuation of the wing cantilever box. The two primary frames for the fuselage, FR36 and FR42, are also part of the wing center-box structure,
- the main landing-gear bay, installed between FR42 and FR46,
- the belly fairing primary-structure, installed on the exterior of the center-fuselage lower section. This structure is an extension to the fuselage and gives easy access to the air conditioning and hydraulic services equipment,
- a keel beam to keep the longitudinal structural continuity of the lower fuselage and to transmit the fuselage bending loads. The beam is installed between FR35 and FR46. It is attached to the bottom of both frames and the wing center-box structure. The main landing-gear inner-door fittings are attached to the keel beam,
- a zone pressure limit-structure. The limit includes the top skin panel of the wing center-box section and two adjacent diaphragms. The forward diaphragm extends from FR35 to the wing box. The rear diaphragm extends from the wing box to FR46. Pressure limit bulkheads are installed in the wing-box front spar and in the lower part of FR35 and FR46,
- the center fuselage shell, which is made of skin-panels, frames, stringers and skin stiffeners,
- the passenger-compartment floor structure, made of longitudinal beams, seat and support tracks, support struts and floor panels.
