1. General
Paint and/or special coatings seal the aircraft structures against corrosion. The type of protective coating used depends on the location, function and corrosion resistance of the component.
You must repair any damage to the original protective treatment. Refer to AMM 51-23-00 and SRM 51-75-00 for the original build up.

NOTE: For any paint repair (total or partial) on the Elevator you must refer to the AMM 552000-370-00100.
