2. Description
A. Aluminum Alloy Structure
NOTE: The abbreviation 'CAA' is used for Chromic Acid Anodizing.
Aluminum alloy structure is CAA prepared and then painted. External surfaces and some internal surfaces have a primer coating and a coat of paint. B. Exposed Areas
Areas which are exposed to moisture, or possible hydraulic leaks or galley/toilet leaks also have a moisture removing oil coating.

C. Composite Components
Composite components have a pore filler applied, to make the surface smooth, and a coat of paint.
Some external composite components have an antistatic paint coating.

D. Corrosion-Resistant Steel Components
Corrosion-resistant steel components and components where the application of paint would damage the operation of the component are not painted.
