DC ELECTRICAL LOAD DISTRIBUTION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
1. General
The DC electrical distribution on board is carried out in several steps corresponding to:
  • power distribution from the transformers rectifiers towards the main DC busbars located in the DC electrical power center, then from the main busbars towards the associated distribution sub-busbars,
  • distribution from these sub-busbars towards the different consumers.
This chapter deals only with power distribution.
The referenced figure gives a schematic summary of the whole DC distribution on board.
This can be broken down as follows:
  • the DC main distribution connected to 28 VDC BUS1 1PP, 28 VDC BUS2 2PP and 28 VDC BAT BUS 3PP (Ref. 24-61-00, P. Block 1),
  • the DC essential distribution connected to busbars 28 VDC ESS BUS 4PP and 28 VDC SHED ESS BUS 8PP (Ref. 24-62-00, P. Block 1).

A. Spare Fuse
  • If fuse 6PH1 melts, you can replace it by a spare 80A fuse that is installed at the top of the left side panel, in the cockpit.
B. DC Power Generation
The main DC power is located in the DC power center 124VU.
It mainly contains:
  • Contactors related to channel 1 as well as busses 1PP and 3PP,
  • Contactors related to channel 2 as well as busses 2PP and 6PP,
  • The APU start contactor.

The DC part of the electrical emergency generation is located in the electrical emergency power center 106VU.

The battery line contactors are located in the battery power center 105VU.

3. System Description
Different distribution configurations: (See ATA Ref. 24-50-00).
In case of loss of the DC BUS 1, DC BUS 2, DC BAT BUS and DC ESS BUS (DC power snag), the crew must extend the RAT by pressing the RAT & EMER GEN/MAN ON pushbutton switch located on the EMER ELEC PWR section of the overhead panel:
